Bill Smith is running for City council because he cares about the City he grew up, knows and lives in. He feels a need to improve the quality of business within the City. He proposes improvement in quality of business in Harrisville by going to UDOT and get the agreement changed to allow more access to SR89 or at least look into how this was accomplished.
He has not changed anything on his stance towards the good landlord issue because he feels there are many property owners that do nothing to benefit the adjacent properties, and it runs down the other property and the City’s image. He views this as his highest priority. As far as the City charging residents to fix their sidewalks, he feels that the City has taken too much upon itself on this issue. It will not be an easy thing to complete. He loves Harrisville and area, and says, “I will be taken from here kicking and screaming when my sweet wife wants to move.”
