I have worked with the Harrisville Planning Commission for almost 6 years. We have a growing problem in our City of wasteful spending and then passing the buck onto residents by increasing property taxes.
I understand the need to grow the business tax revenue by enticing retailers to come to our city. It is possible to bring enough business tax revenue into our City so that residents aren’t burdened by property tax increases. It is also possible to grow businesses in the already zoned commercial property spaces without affecting our agricultural areas.
If I am elected to the City Council I will be committed to getting tax revenue from our retail stores back up. I will go through every department to find where we can eliminate more waste and reduce our city’s budget. I am committed to finding a fair solution to the City problems and will work to do what is right for the citizens.
