Perry City has again reached out to the Utah Department of Transportation asking for reduced speeds and improved safety on Highway 89. After the recent auto-pedestrian accident that claimed the life of one teenage and another has a long recovery time ahead, there has been an outcry of people asking from the speed to be reduced in the Perry area.

This Year’s Holiday Movie will be on December 5th with show times at 9am and 11am! Santa will visit at approximately 10:30 am and 12:30pm! Feel free to come dressed in your jammies, in true Polar Express style!

The Perry City Green Waste has now been closed for the season.

Perry City is sponsoring a lifting hands project. In coordination with Lifting Hands International, they are gathering items for hygiene kits and new blankets to keep refugees warm through the winter. Items needed: toothpaste;  toothbrush;  shampoo;  deodorant;  washcloth;  comb; bar soap (new and no trial sizes of any item).  New blankets: you can make quilts, receiving blankets, fleece blankets, etc. (no size regulations) Cash donations accepted if preferred. (There will be a locked box inside the City office). Donations will be gathered the 20th of each month. Last donation day is January 20, 2018. You may also visit: http://www.liftinghandsinternational.org/ to find a list of other items to donate.  Organize neighborhood projects, gather your families to donate, or invite friends to quilt together.  If you have questions, or need more information, contact Relief Coordinator Tresa Peterson perryhelpers@gmail.com All items will be loaded on a shipping container to Lebanon and Jordan.  Tresa has a message she wants to share, “We live in an abundant     community.  We have warm homes, food to eat, and employment to support our needs. Give and help where you can. Make it a season of giving.”

“IT” has arrived—the dreaded “S” word (snow). Just a reminder: landowners are responsible to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property accessible and cleared of debris, vegetation, and snow to be compliant with Perry City ordinances and reduce their personal liability. Also as winter approaches, to allow for snow removal, vehicles and trailers are not allowed to be parked on public streets within 48 hours immediately following any snowfall.

The HEAT (Home Energy Assistance Target) Program will begin November 1, 2017, and be open through April 30, 2018, or until federal funds are exhausted. The HEAT Program is a federally-funded assistance program designed to help low-income, elderly, and disabled households with home energy costs. The benefit amount is based on household income, household size, type of fuel used and energy burden. HEAT benefits are a one-time payment and will help pay a portion of your fuel bills over the cold winter months. Beginning November 1, 2017, Box Elder residents can call 1-435-723-1116 to schedule an appointment. If you are elderly or disabled and unable to come into our office, we have someone who will come to your home. Please mention this when you call to schedule your appointment. The Box Elder County HEAT office is located at the BRAG Office (Bear River Association of Governments) at 2535 US-89, Perry.
