Had a busy weekend - after speaking at the Democratic National Committee's summer meeting in San Francisco on Friday, I ran in the Salem Old Settlers Parade and spoke to Iowa's 2nd Congressional District Democrats, as well as local Democratic Party groups in Calhoun County and Clay County. I was also profiled in the Washington Times, which wrote that I'm "Trying to make an impact in Iowa the old-fashioned way: by camping out in the state, giving interviews to anyone who asks and shaking as many hands as possible at parades, festivals and breakfast meetings" (link).
This week will be full of events - indeed, the Des Moines Register says I'll be the only candidate in Iowa (link)! I'd like to highlight my next "Cup of Joe on the Issues" event - I'll speak on education and "training for a lifetime" at the Strawberry Farm Bed & Breakfast in Muscatine, Iowa, on Wednesday, August 28th, at 5pm CDT. You can RSVP here.
