Salt Lake City, UT - Better Business Bureau today announced the launch of its latest consumer reporting service, BBB AdTruth (BBB.org/AdTruth), an online tool that empowers everyday shoppers to identify advertisements that appear to contain claims that are questionable or which may lack evidence to support them and report them so BBB advertising review specialists can investigate, and assess their truthfulness.

“Questionable advertisements continue to plague consumers,” said Jane Driggs, president of BBB Serving Northern Nevada and Utah. “Now consumers can report those ads to BBB quickly and easily. Especially during the Holiday season consumers rely on ads to be truthful.”

BBB AdTruth guides consumers through a series of questions about where they saw or heard the advertisement, which claims were made in the advertisement (based on the BBB Code of Advertising), and why the consumer was concerned about the truthfulness of the ad. Consumers are able to upload screenshots or photos, as well, enabling BBB investigators to gather information quickly.

The BBB AdTruth program was created in 2013 to teach consumers how to identify and report suspicious or misleading advertisements, thanks to support provided through a cy pres award from the California courts and a grant from Google Inc. Google is also a 2019 Community Program Partner for BBB AdTruth. The educational program includes online content, videos, infographics, and a public awareness campaign that has garnered more than 237 million media impressions.

ABOUT BBB: For more than 100 years, the Better Business Bureau has been helping people find businesses, brands, and charities they can trust. In 2017, people turned to BBB more than 160 million times for BBB Business Profiles on more than 5.2 million businesses and Charity Reports on 11,000 charities, all available for free at bbb.org. There are local, independent BBBs across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, including BBB Serving Northern Nevada and Utah.

November 28, 2018 - Los Angeles, CA - The New Pacific are premiering their new single "Yesterday" exclusively via The Noise. Listen HERE. "Yesterday", which was tracked at Dave Grohl's Studio 606, will be featured on the band's upcoming EP, Heavy Towards The Light, due out 11/30. For more information on The New Pacific, please visit: http://www.thenewpacific.com/.

The New Pacific is comprised of Alec Strickland (guitar/vocals), Brett Carpenter (guitar), Dustin Martin (bass) and Brian Perry (drums). Although the band was born and bred in Los Angeles, 2017 had them touring the country and bringing their uniquely heavy hook-laden rock to the masses. The band landed a slot at Chicago's legendary Lollapalooza, where they played on the BMI stage in front of thousands of music lovers, and later set off on a cross country tour.

The band further extended their reach last year by landing a track on the Eagles of Death Metal benefit album alongside bands like Florence and the Machine, Kings of Leon and Jimmy Eat World with their cover of "I Love You All The Time". They later released their Cycle EP to critical success, played sold out shows in Los Angeles at The Roxy, The Regent and The Echo, shared stages with bands such as Death from Above 1979, Alien Ant Farm and Marmozets and played the KROQ stage at the Pomona date of the 2018 Vans Warped Tour.

The New Pacific are currently gearing up to release their follow-up EP, Heavy Towards The Light, on 11/30. Produced by Steve Evetts (The Cure, Saves The Day, Every Time I Die), the EP will feature the aforementioned song, "Yesterday", as well as previous single, "Anchor", which debuted on KROQ and later landed on Spotify's flagship tastemaker playlists Rock This, The Scene and New Noise, leading to over 328,000 streams.
