Morgan Reeder was nominated by Aaron Dooley, her Social Science teacher, for January Student of the Month. Morgan is the daughter of Ryan and Suzanne Reeder.
Morgan is in my World Civilizations class. She is an exceptional student in every way. Morgan puts forth the effort on every assignment. We do many assignments that require students to make inference on their own. Morgan has demonstrated repeatedly her ability to critically think about events in the past and understand them for more than just facts on a page.
Morgan is not only an exemplary student she also has the ability quietly help those around her. She is always prepared to make sure that not only she is successful but also the people around her.
Karen Jessop nominated Jenny Patino for January CTE Student of the Month. Jenny is the daughter of Valerio and Yolanda Patino.
It with pleasure that I nominate Jenny Patino as the student of the month from the Family and Consumer Department. I have had the opportunity to have Jenny in two of my classes this term and have found her to be a very diligent and conscientious student.
To look at Jenny, she looks pretty much like any other student, but one of the things I admire most about her knowing that English is not her native language. School can be challenging enough under the best of circumstances, but I truly can’t imagine how daunting and overwhelming it would be to come to a new country and start right into school trying to assimilate into classes spoken in a foreign language! What I have observed about Jenny is that she has taken on this challenge with grace, with dignity, and with a most pleasant disposition, making it a pleasure to have her in class. In addition to finding success for herself under these difficult conditions, she is very willing and eager to assist others who are at a lower level of understanding and has proven to be such a help to me in interpreting to others what is expected of them.
For these reasons, I feel that Jenny is very deserving of receiving the honor of Student of the Month.
Mike Robinson nominated Mailee Carr for Foreign Language January Student of the Month. Mailee is the daughter of J.D. Carr and Jamie L. Carr
It has been a pleasure teaching Mailee these past two years in both Spanish 1 and 2. I can always count on her to come to class each day prepared and ready to learn.
One of the many things I appreciate about her is her positive attitude and willingness to participate in any activity without a complaint no matter how simple or difficult the task may be to her.
Another thing that I like and admire is her friendly personality and willingness to help her fellow students. She makes my classes better with these qualities.
