City Council report:
Boyd Ferrin reported that most of the activity on the park is going to the future RAMP grant application. Boyd stated several portions of the park went out to bid, commenting Marriott Construction was awarded the bid on those projects. Ken Phippen stated there is a completion date for the end of May for those projects. Mr. Ferrinn also reported the Youth City Council is actively recruiting new members.
Matt Gwynn reported the CERT committee has been very active and are asking about hooking the generator up to the City office. Mayor Dickemore stated the lights have to be updated before the generator will work.
Tom Burkland reported he attended the Central Weber Sewer Board meeting, commenting they have some surplus equipment that is available to cities before opening up to the public. Tom reported they also approved the two percent increase, but commented it will not affect Farr West City residents at this time.
Boyd Ferrin reported he has been working on the pay scales and the RAMP applications.
David Jay reported he continues to have conversations with compliant and non-compliant issues in the City.
Ken Phippen reported he has been working on the major RAMP grant application which includes Phase 3 of the Smith Family Park. Ken then reported he is also working on a minor RAMP grant application for the Heritage trail, which is a trail that goes around the regional detention basin. Mr. Phippen has compiled the results of the surveys from the open house.
Francisco Javier Carrillo - residential business license for Carrillo’s Auto was approved for Francisco Javier Carrillo. Mr. Carrillo stated he will be doing minor automobile repairs in his garage.
Approval of 2017 Business License Renewals: there seemed to be a problem with several business getting their renewals. Tom Burkland stated he would like to see the Carl Whitelely Upholstery held off from approval as he still has not corrected his sales tax issues, commenting they are still paying to Harrisville City. David Jay commented he still has issues with Wasatch Valley Excavation. Ryan Shaw stated they have committed to coming to the February Planning Commission meeting and if the site plan does not become compliant, the business license will be revoked. Ken Phippen asked if Farr West Auto is site plan compliant. John Stewart stated the site plan is compliant and that the number of cars is attached to the conditional use permit. David Jay stated the number of cars currently on the lot is compliant with the conditional use permit. Ken Phippen stated he has concerns with E & E Welding, commenting the signs they have placed throughout the City are illegal. Ken stated he would like to see a letter sent to them informing them their signs need to be removed before their business license is approved.
