Kade Stiver son of Cameron and Emily Stiver was November Student of the Month for PE/Health nominated by Coach Mike Ripplinger
I nominate Kade Stiver as the PE student of the month. I have had Kade in Participation Skills and Kade is an exemplary student. He is eager to participate in any activity that we are doing. He is also very respectful to me as his teacher. He participates in the activities but also is so good about helping set the equipment up for the activities. It is also enjoyable to visit with Kade and hear him share with me some of the life ambitions that he has. He is also considerate of his fellow peers in each of the classes that I have him.
Jayden McKay son of Randall McKay and Melissa McKay was nominated by Donny Constantineau for November Student of the Month in Social Science I picked Jayden because he represents those students who fly under the radar, they show up every day, and I mean every day, prepared for class. Prepared for class means, they have their assignments finished, they have all the materials needed for class, they show up on time and they contribute during class discussions and conversations. Jayden shows up every day about 4 minutes early, he’s been to class every day but one and that was parent excused. Jayden could win this award on his attendance record alone. That being said, it should not be forgotten that his grade matches his attendance commitment. It’s refreshing to see students like Jayden who are committed to getting as much education as he can while here at school.
Emily Blaine daughter of Nathan and Jennifer Blaine was nominated for Science November Student of the Month by Gregg Cefalo
Emily is a very dedicated and caring student. She shows her demonstrates this qualities in many ways. Emily has a very positive attitude that helps others around her. She works really hard on her understanding. She does this by asking great questions to gain deeper understanding. The questions are very thought trough. This shows her deep understanding of the concepts.
Emily shows her great desire to learn and perform well by her very high achievements. She scored 97 out of 100 on our big test. It covered 4 large units. It is a very impressive score. She shows her dedication to education by making sure she does all the assignments well. The most recent example of this was the STEM Fair. She was presenting at the STEM Fair and was going to miss my Astronomy class. She asked for the homework ahead of time and had it done when we corrected it the next day. It is a rare trait to have students that do the assignment ahead of time.
Tanner Johnston---Language Arts Student of the Month nominated by Mariah Andreasen. Tanner is the son of Ryan Johnston and Valorie Ward I chose Tanner Johnston as the Language Arts Student of the Month because his aptitude, work ethic, and interpersonal communication skills model what I expect from all of my students. Tanner excels in Language Arts. He spends many of his lunch breaks working on a novel which tackles topics well beyond most sophomores’ scopes. The work he turns in demonstrates that he has a firm understanding of organization and text evidence. Additionally, when Tanner adds his voice to classroom conversations, it focuses the conversation or adds a new perspective sparking conversation. Aptitude doesn’t mean a whole lot without hard work; and trust me, Tanner works hard. He advocates for himself by asking conceptual questions about the “essential questions” my class works to understand. His work is a product of concerted effort and is turned in on time. He stays on task and orients his conversations with peers around the topic at hand. Most importantly, Tanner is kind. I’ve heard several of Tanner’s peer’s comment that he is always smiling. Tanner doesn’t have a group or clique. He seems to feel comfortable talking with anyone and his words have always been kind. His ease of conversation gives Tanner an advantage and allows him to take on leadership roles with ease. Thanks, Tanner, for being such a great example to your peers.
Cooper Clark was nominated for November Student of the Month by Laurie McCarty. Cooper is the son of Colby and Candace Jensen of Brigham City, Utah and Brandon and Linda Clark of Henderson, Nevada I have chosen to nominate Cooper Clark for November Student of the Month. Cooper has gone above and beyond my Fitness for Life class. He works extremely hard when doing the machine and has competed against himself on all our runs. He would consistently try to beat his own record each time we ran. I enjoy having Cooper in class. He is very positive with his peers, as well as with me. I have appreciated his hard work and great attitude throughout the trimester. Keep up the good work Cooper, with your work ethic you will have many great rewards ahead.

She is one who cares about others and is willing to go out of her way to show compassion for her fellow students. Salym is going to be a great leader for the community in which she decides to call home in the future. She never misses, is always on time and never complains. It is my privilege to be associated with such an outstanding student.
Cole Johnson son of Brett and Becca Johnson was nominated by Kenneth Bunce for November Student of the Month in CTE Cole is an awesome kid he is very busy and has huge aspirations. I have had Cole in my automotive classes. But I really got to know Cole from the opportunity I had to work with him in our engine building team. He was excited but very nervous when he first started. He was working hard but would not finish a job because he did not want to mess up.
Cole has become a leader on the team and one of the fastest builders. We has an opportunity to go down to SEMA and compete national engine building contest. He stood out to me as an unsung hero on our team he is always happy to meet now challenges and that is why I chose Cole as my student of the month
Hannah Fields daughter of Bonni Smith was nominated for November Student of the Month in Counseling in Counseling by Victoria Dance I have had the privilege to get to know and work with Hannah for the last 3 years. The first thing I noticed about Hannah was her kind heart. She has faced opposition in her life, but regardless, she continues to think of others. She has spent countless hours as a Peer Tutor and loves the students she works with. I love the twinkle in Hannah’s eye and her determination and resiliency impresses to me. She is willing to do what it takes to meet her goals no matter what obstacles she has to overcome. Hannah has aspirations to continue to help people and I feel lucky to have gotten to support Hannah in her accomplishments.

Hirone is in my Sociology class as well as my U.S. Government class. He is an outstanding young man in so many ways. Hirone is known as Hilo by students as well as teachers. Hilo is such a positive influence in the classroom. He comes to class happy and ready to learn. Other students are influenced by his positive attitude and his willingness to do whatever it takes to be successful in class. Hilo is one of those students who is always on task and always listening during lectures and presentations. He is always prepared and is willing to participate in classroom discussions. Hilo is very respectful and he is always willing to help the teacher as well as other students in the class. Hilo is going to be very successful in life because he is disciplined and committed to doing his very best in everything he does.
Sydnie Blacker is the daughter of Nicky Blacker and Casey Blacker. Sydnie was nominated by Kasey Cullimore her Science teacher for November Student of the Month. The Student of the Month for the Science Department is Sydnie Blacker. Sydnie is a fantastic student who goes about quietly doing her work at the highest levels. She is a very bright student who quickly grasps concepts and is always above proficient, but the reason she is student of the month is her willingness and ability to bring other students along with her. She is very helpful when there may be a student who is struggling with my explanation of a concept to sit and explain in a way that I may not be able to. This has helped on several occasions and has made it possible to allow me to sit struggling students by her to help them out. I know in speaking with other teachers they are amazed but not surprised by her abilities and intelligence and students are grateful for her kindness and helpful nature.
