The temperature continues to fluctuate. This often causes the frost line to go down deeper, even if the temperatures are above freezing during the day. Please leave an inside tap dripping to prevent frozen water lines. We have had a couple of reports of frozen lines in the past couple of weeks. A constant drip is all it takes. Make sure you know where your water meter is located and mark or uncover it to prevent damage with removing snow and for access in case of an emergency.
The Public Works Department personnel want to thank those who removed vehicles and trailers from the sides of the street. There is still the chance of snow storms. Please use caution when driving. Please don't shovel or plow snow from your driveway into the city streets. The piles can freeze and cause severe damage to the snow plows and create dangerous situations for motorists. Please clear around the mailboxes for postal delivery and remove your garbage containers as soon as possible after pick-up.
