A RESOLUTION CANCELING THE FARR WEST CITY
MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 7, 2017
WHEREAS all municipal officers of Farr West City are elected in an at-large election pursuant to Subsection 10-3-205.5(1) of the Utah Code; and
WHEREAS only the incumbents have filed to run for the offices open in the upcoming election on November 7, 2017; and
WHEREAS, there are no other municipal ballot propositions scheduled for the upcoming election; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 20A-1-206 of the Utah Code, a municipal legislative body may cancel a municipal election if certain conditions are met.
NOW THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED, the Farr West City Council, pursuant to Section 20A-1-206, Utah Code Annotated 1953 as amended, does hereby cancel the municipal election scheduled for November 7, 2017, and hereby certifies that each of the municipal officer candidates in said election is unopposed and that each candidate is considered to be elected to the office for which they are running.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and after the Resolution has been:
1. Posted on the Statewide Electronic Voter Information Website for fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the scheduled election;
2. Posted on the Farr West City public website for fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the scheduled election;
3. Posted in any city-published newsletter published before the date of the scheduled election; and
4. Published at least twice in a newspaper of general circulation within Farr West City before the day of the scheduled election.
Passed by the Farr West City Council on the 21st day of September, 2017
