Is there a way for every person…to have a happy ending?

Aislee Greenwood explores how to settle conflict through respect in ‘A Test of Loyalty’

TUMWATER, WA. – Aislee Greenwood echoes today’s political and social climate, as well as typical issues that every teenager experiences in her debut publication titled “A Test of Loyalty: The Taming Fire Series” (published by AuthorHouse). According to Greenwood, this first book of the Taming Fire Series is highly relatable for a young modern audience.

In the fictional medieval kingdoms of Lightwood and Blackwood, Prince Baline (of Blackwood) wishes to stop his father from going to war with Princess Lily’s people (the Lightwoods), but he also wishes to help a young maid in his castle earn the freedom she deserves. Meanwhile, his sister, Belle, falls for a young man named Kearne who has run away from his cruel and abusive father — hoping to seek knightly training so that he might finally be able to stand up to the man.

This group of teenagers stand up to unfair rulers, and a society that never listens to those with a different opinion. Is there any way for these teens to somehow make a difference?

“Filled with unique yet oddly relatable characters, this book not only has a refreshingly diverse cast, but also may provide some insight as to how readers might handle the issues in their own lives,” Greenwood shares.

Ultimately, Greenwood hopes to impart lessons on tolerance, understanding and respect for one another to give way for a more democratic, peaceful and prosperous society.

- New Noise Magazine

NOVEMBER 16, 2018 - Can't Swim's sophomore album, This Too Won't Pass, is out now through Pure Noise Records. Fans can purchase the new record here: http://smarturl.it/CantSwim

In anticipation of the album, the New Jersey outfit released three singles: "My Queen", "sometimes you meet the right people at the wrong times", and "Congratulations, Christopher Hodge".

This Too Won't Pass is a brutally honest album made by people for whom music means everything and want their music to mean the same to others. In the ten tracks that make up the album, Can't Swim are able to articulate our struggles with the people, places and events that continue to shape our lives and scrape our hearts.

During the recording process, lead vocalist and guitarist Chris LoPorto found himself gravitating towards the meaning of the word 'evil'; a catch-all word that summarized the malevolence he felt about a number of elements in his life, be it the events of a past he continues to be governed by, and the wrongdoing he's observed in his immediate surroundings and society as a whole.

"Problems haunt you, infect you, and in time become a part of who you are," LoPorto explains, "You might find ways to distract yourself or try and forget but every time you look in the mirror you'll only see reminders of what you hate. Evil surrounds us and in time, becomes a part of who we are. Let this band be a reminder of that."
