Wow! The 6th grade play this year was phenomenal! The students worked very hard to perfect each of their parts and their hard work paid off! We definitely have some amazing theatrical talent at Plain City Elementary. We would like to thank all of the parents for helping their children with costumes, practicing, stage make-up and support. We are continually amazed at the talent, work-ethic and support your children have. They are truly
wonderful people!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Math/Science Olympiad. The location for this competition is the Golden Spike Arena on May 12th and 13th. Contact Joel Frederiksen (jfrederiksen@wsd.net) at Municipal or Matt Patterson (mpatterson@wsd.net) at the District Office for any questions.
Elementary Mathematics Endorsement Program. The third course, Algebraic Reasoning, in the Endorsement Program will begin in August. If you haven’t yet joined this cohort, you can pick up the other classes next time they are offered. Contact Sheri Heiter (sheiter@wsd.net) at the District Office for further information.
SAGE TEST. There will be no math reference sheets for end-of-level testing.
Please Note: If the standard says “use” or “apply” the formula, it will be provided in the question stem. If the standard says “know” the formula, students will be expected to know and be able to use the formula.
Besides working their hardest and learning like crazy, our students have been involved in wonderful extracurricular activities. Our 6th grade students spent time rehearsing and showing off their talents in a spectacular 6th grade play. It was a real treat for all those who attended. Thank you to our 6th grade students, and a big thank you to our teachers for all their hard work—especially Mrs. Adams! It was fabulous!
Beautiful art work was displayed at our Art Achievement Fair. As you walked through the displays, it was obvious to see that we have very talented students! Thank you for the donations that were given at the Fair. These
donations help us purchase needed supplies which will ensure this special night continues. A big thank you to our teachers for helping our students create such masterpieces!
We held Kindergarten Round-up for our newest Panthers. We love the energy and enthusiasm these five-year-olds bring to our school. We welcome them and are excited to get to know each and every one of them!
Our State End-of-level testing (SAGE) has begun and we want our students performing at their very best every day.
Please help us on the home front by making sure your students are eating a good breakfast every morning and getting plenty of rest. As you can tell, we have been busy doing wonderful things and find it hard to believe that we are already into the final quarter of school. Let’s FINISH STRONG by doing our best every single day!
Sincerely,
Karla Porter
