Brigham –Aldersgate United Methodist Church welcomes a new interim pastor, Reverend Dr. David Henry. Reverend Henry arrived in May, and has been busy handling Sunday services and getting acquainted with all the church members. He will be serving for the next year as the pastor until the church receives a full-time pastor. There was an open house on June 8th at the fellowship hall to welcome him and his wife, Donna, to the parish. Reverend Henry has 37 years of ministry experience in a rural, suburban setting in California, Missouri, Idaho, Wyoming & Utah. He has worked with various denominations in the Intermountain West over the past 30 years.
Brigham City – Alpine Church is hosting Fusion Youth Summerfest, July 9-12 at Big Canyon Ranch in Wanship, Utah. This is going to be an amazing week. There’s a lake, a ropes course, climbing wall, hiking, and paintball for an extra fee. Come ready to have an amazing week with God and friends. We will be having activities that encourage faith in God. We’ve had great time here in years past.
Brigham City - There will be no change in our weekly schedule or working hours at Main Street Church during the construction in front of the church. However, until road construction is completed, there will not be any access to the parking behind the church. The City has requested that we do not occupy the City Hall parking lot during business hours, except for those with disability permits. The best option for parking is the public parking on the SOUTH SIDE of the old courthouse, about 1/2 a block south of the church on Main Street. We apologize for the inconvenience. Women's Bible Study has started “They Met Jesus" at the beginning of June on Mondays & Tuesdays. "The studies in this series are based on the principle that honest confrontation with another person helps us in the process of self-discovery. Men and women from strikingly different backgrounds are included. There are those of high social, economic, or political status; working men and the disposed. Spiritually, there are the devout, the curious and questing, the proud and assured, the confused and uncertain. As we study the narratives, we shall share in these encounters with Jesus by discovering the response of the individuals to Him and His response to them." We believe this is building our faith in him and helping us in understanding how we may be able to handle situations in our own lives.
Brigham City - Community Presbyterian Church tries to nurture children from birth to adulthood, and to let each child know he or she is loved and accepted. Daily Vacation Bible School and youth group activities, in particular, bring in children and teens whose families are not actively engaged in the church by helping to build faith in our beliefs of our church. The children have adopted mission projects of collecting food for the YWCA crisis shelter and assembling personal kits for the Ogden Rescue Mission or Homeless Shelter to learn the lessons of giving. As the youth grow, we have been trying to keep the youth active with said beliefs, faith and in community action. Our mentoring program matches up teens and adolescents with caring adults for activities—giving youth at least one other adult or couple with whom they can identify within the Church. We encourage the youth to become part of the Bell Choir, which gathers weekly for practices and performs in church as well as nursing homes and other locations and for the young group Chime Choir. Children and youth are welcome to be part of these musical endeavors, which not only bring church involvement but also develop musical talents.
