Hello, My name is Jeffrey C. Lemberes and I am running for Harrisville City Council. As seen in these tough economic times we are in need of a leader who can handle the stress of the job along with figure out the right things to do. Last week Harrisville had a meeting where a lot of citizens showed up and voiced their opinion. The Council and Mayor seemed to be very stressed and unorganized and had to ask the City Manager Bill how to do everything. My wife was very upset about the tax %100 increase and told the council that she felt it was or did not APPEAR to be above boards. After numerous arguing about language the motion was table until Thursday were another meeting was held. All council members but Chad Allen voted for some kind of tax raise even though they turned down a "358,000" by contracting the police they then have the guts to convince the citizens how this was the right thing. I am still very disappointed in the decision process since it appears this is the first time they have had to actually deal with citizens. I would like to say that Thursday nights meeting I was rather proud of my Mayor and Council minus one council person complaining about how tues night kept her up and she couldn't sleep! yes folks you are in a position that affect people's lives. It was a sad display. Now, It's over they voted in a 75% tax increase Still unacceptable but what can ya do. The meeting last tues proved that we need strong leaders who can make the hard calls without being so stressed that they can't function.This particular Councilperson should give up the seat as it has been proven that stress causes bad decisions.
1.Please vote for me a veteran Law Enforcement Officer who has been a deputized U.S Federal Marshal fugitive team, Detective and handled several high profile murder cases to include digging up little Ethan Stacy, I am currently assigned to the gang unit. And if you think we don't have gangs in Harrisville your sadly mistaken
2. I know City Government and will work hard for the Citizens and not just do what I want
3.I will find the lacking money to help make up the shortfall in budget that this council decided to pass on
4. I am a huge supporter of our veterans who have given us this right to run for office. God bless every veteran..
5.I am a Fema certified instructor. It's just a matter of time before we have a serious incident in our City and I do not believe our current council hasthe skills to make the tough decisions
6.I will be available and bring honesty ,integrity ,
and transparency to the office. no more sliding a 100% tax increase into the budget without the citizens input.
PLease vote for me if you want a strong leader in this office or vote the other guys if you want the same ol same ol
