Virginia Teen Named Grand Prize Winner of National Video Contest
‘Lights, Camera, Save!’ inspires kids and teens to save
during America Saves Week

WASHINGTON — In recognition of America Saves Week, the American Bankers Association Foundation announced today the three national winners for its 2017-2018 Lights, Camera, Save! video contest. The winning videos were revealed through a live broadcast on the association’s YouTube channel.

The judging panel, which consisted of personal finance and communications experts, awarded Dylan Fox of Springfield, Va. the grand prize for his video, “Money: It’s Literally Everything.” Fox was named a national finalist after winning the local contest at Burke & Herbert Bank in Alexandria, Va.

“Through original lyrics and music, Dylan successfully highlights the value of saving and smart money management,” said Corey Carlisle, executive director of the ABA Foundation. “His video will be a fantastic tool in inspiring other students to make saving a priority.”

“We are thrilled for Dylan and are proud to be a part of this major accomplishment. His song is so catchy it stays with you long after the 90 second video ends,” said Terry Cole, executive vice president, Burke & Herbert Bank. “Burke & Herbert Bank is a strong advocate for developing financial literacy among the next generation of banking consumers so our involvement in the ‘Lights, Camera, Save’ program is a natural extension of our ongoing work.”

This was Fox’s second time as a Lights, Camera, Save! finalist. In 2017, his film “$ave Your Future!” was in the top five and featured in the “Savers’ Choice” social media contest. Ultimately, Fox won the social media contest and received a GoPro to encourage future filmmaking.

The Lights, Camera, Save! judging panel awarded the national grand prizes as listed below:

First Place Winner—$5,000
Money: It’s Literally Everything
Dylan Fox (Lake Braddock Secondary, Springfield, Va.)
Burke & Herbert Bank (Alexandria, Va.)

Second Place Winner—$2,500
How A Bill Becomes A Lot
Catie Tomasello (Florida Virtual School, Orlando, Fla.)
Banco do Brasil Americas (Miami, Fla.)

Third Place Winner—$1,000
My Dollar Said Something
Ryan Callister (Tooele High School, Tooele, Utah)
Zions Bank (Salt Lake City, Utah)

The ABA Foundation will also award a scholarship for a teacher from each winning school to attend the 2018 Jump$tart National Educator Conference in Cleveland.

Lights, Camera, Save!, which launched in 2010 as an offshoot of the ABA Foundation’s Teach Children to Save program, is a unique competition that encourages kids to use video to communicate the value of saving and motivate their peers. This year, 158 banks hosted 174 contests in 45 states for the local levels of the competition and selected a winner to represent their bank to compete at the national level. Carlisle attributes Lights, Camera, Save!’s success to the bankers’ efforts in promoting and hosting the contest locally.

Hemp, Inc. Announces Prominent Media Coverage by The Cannabis Reporter

SPRING HOPE, NC, Feb. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP), a global leader in the industrial hemp industry with the largest hemp mill in the western hemisphere, announced today that the Company’s position as a leader of hemp production and manufacturing in the United States was featured in a Feb. 23, 2018 The Cannabis Reporter podcast titled “Hope Springs Eternal: Conscious Capitalism In The Cannabis Industry.”

The Cannabis Reporter spoke with Hemp, Inc. CEO, Bruce Perlowin, about his passion for “educating and transforming business in the realm of industrial hemp.” Perlowin discusses the variety of hemp cultivars and the types of natural and environmentally-friendly products the Company is making from those crops in its state-of-the-art facility in Spring Hope, N.C., including Hemp, Inc.’s DrillWall™ and Spill-Be-Gone™ products. He also discusses why hemp is the new cash crop that is transforming the American landscape and how the Company is committed to empowering veterans and small farmers to reap the benefits of this lucrative and versatile plant.

Hemp, Inc. announced on Jan. 4, 2018 that the Company was shipping its first purchase orders of loss-circulation material DrillWall™ and Kenaf fiber. On Jan. 25, 2018, the Company announced it had fulfilled its first purchase order for Spill-Be-Gone™, part of Hemp, Inc.’s spill-absorbent family of products. The Company announced on Oct. 24, 2017 that its strategic growing partner Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc. had completed its final site plan blueprints for its 500-acre site in Golden Valley, Arizona.

“Hemp, Inc. is committed to creating products that can reduce toxic waste and provide green solutions for the gas and oil drilling industries,” said Hemp, Inc. CEO Bruce Perlowin. “As a socially and environmentally conscious company, we have been forming strategic partnerships that encourage farmers, veterans, and others to join and receive benefit from the hemp movement nationwide.”

As Hemp, Inc. provides consulting services in the hemp-CBD market, specifically in the areas of growing high quality organically-grown CBD rich hemp, harvesting, extracting, and marketing, executives say they will also build Veteran Village Kins Communities across the country.  “Our ‘Veteran Village Kins Communities’ is where we will not only grow some of our Hemp, it is a full-blown holistic solution to the multifaceted veteran problems in the USA. Our prototype model is in Arizona about 20 miles north of Kingman and 90 miles from Las Vegas, NV. It's our way of saying, ‘Thank You’ to our Veterans.”

Hemp, Inc. Announces Strategic Hemp Growing Partner "Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc." Completes Final Site Plan Blueprints

Hemp, Inc. has announced that its strategic growing partner, "Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.," has completed its final site plan blueprints for its 500-acre site in Golden Valley, Arizona (20 miles north of Kingman, AZ and 90 minutes from Las Vegas, NV). The site plan was submitted to the Mohave County Building Department for final review. The Company is also in the final stages of completing the necessary infrastructure to support an off-grid, renewable, energy system. The remainder of the solar equipment is expected to arrive in the next few days, completing the site's solar power operation.

Dwight Jory, the Project Manager for the "Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.," said, "We are very happy with the progress. Our Kins Community is really beginning to come together." In anticipation of planting to begin during the spring, 300 acres have been fenced, 16 overnight trailer park sites are under construction, and six 40x40-ft organic vegetable gardens are ready for seasonal planting, according to Jory. As for the 6 geodesic domes mentioned in an earlier press release, 1 is structurally complete with only the electrical and plumbing to be completed. The rest are on site awaiting final site plan approval. "We are now accepting volunteers who have expressed an interest in helping to build the first Kins Community for our veterans," said Jory. Those interested in making the first hemp growing CBD-producing "Veteran Village Kins Community" become a reality should contact Ms. Sandra Williams via email (swilliams@hempinc.com).

One thousand trees, on 36 of the 500-acres, have also been planted, with an additional 1,000 trees on order. The "Veteran Village Kins Community" site plan also includes a 100,000-square foot GMP compliant, central processing plant, CBD testing laboratory, and various health and wellness centers to support veterans who may have psychological, emotional or health issues.
Hemp, Inc. and "Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc." began development on the "Veteran-Village Kins Community in Arizona" approximately 6 years ago. Kins Communities are designed to grow hemp and produce cannabidiol (CBD) products to benefit veterans and to generate revenue for Hemp, Inc., the Veteran Village, and the individuals living on the land. Each 2.5-acre lot is designed to be self-sustainable, with 1 acre allocated to grow hemp and other areas for an organic garden, natural bee-hives, a living fence, a pond, a family tree and other elements that make up a "Kins Domain."

"As Hemp, Inc. positions itself on the forefront of America's industrial hemp revolution, we see our partnership with 'Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.' being paramount in supporting the small family farm movement that we are confident will reshape the American landscape," said Perlowin. "As we work toward getting our eco-village up and running in Arizona, we are also aggressively scouting strategic locations in other states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia. Giving veterans and other Americans a place to learn new skills and take part in this multi-billion-dollar hemp CBD market is very exciting. It's a big part of our mission to give back."

According to Perlowin, seven "master hemp growers" from Oregon, Colorado, California, Kentucky, North Carolina, Nevada and, of course, Arizona have expressed an interest in pursuing a joint venture with Hemp, Inc., to each grow industrial hemp on the 300 fenced acres in Arizona. Perlowin says he'll call this "The Great United American Hemp Project."
It is going to be a busy 2018 for cannabis expos and conferences domestically and internationally.
Below is a running list of some of the events taking place in 2018.
