Respiratory Health and Tips for Helping Deal with Wildfire Smoke
Rootology to help firefighters and wildfire smoke victims breathe easier during vicious wildfire season ahead

CINCINNATI, Ohio / July 31, 2014 -- Rootology Health Founder and CEO Simar Singh says with record droughts across much of the Western US in 2014, it seems everyone is bracing for what could be a vicious wildfire season.

The number of acres burned annually by wildfires in the United States has been steadily increasing over the past several decades, from just over 2 million acres burned in 1986 to 9 million acres burned in 2012.

A wildfire endangers not only the lives and property of those in its path, but it can also have a devastating effect on the health of individuals living in the general vicinity of the fire - even those living hundreds of miles away.

Simar Singh of Rootology Health shares some tips from the experts on how to prevent respiratory problems due to wildfire smoke and haze irritation:

1.      If you smell smoke, your respiratory system could be compromised. Take protective measures to leave the area, or seek medical care if you are experiencing any discomfort such as difficulty breathing, coughing or chest discomfort.

2.      If you are not able to relocate to a clean-air shelter, take shelter at home. If your house has a high-efficiency filter on a whole-house air system, you should be able to avoid the worst of the effects of wildfire smoke irritation. While you are taking shelter at home, do not exert too much energy. Ensure windows and doors are closed.

3.      If you must venture outdoors for any reason, breathe through a damp cloth to filter out harmful particles from smoke.

4.      Stay hydrated.

"It's been reported to us that customers suffering from watery eyes, coughing, and other symptoms triggered by wildfire smoke feel immediate support after taking Rootology, a proprietary mixture of Chinese herbs formulated by our company to promote sinus and respiratory health," says Singh.

Rootology is currently offering free bottles of their herbal supplement, shown to be effective in relieving the coughing, scratchy throat, stinging eyes, runny nose, sinus pressure, shortness of breath, and other reactions often triggered by wildfire smoke. Authorized representatives of federal, state, and local firefighting agencies operating in active wildfire zones can make product requests for their units.

"We want to make the general population aware that there is a new and very effective option for dealing with respiratory irritation from wildfire smoke, but most especially we want to proactively reach out to assist the firefighters on the front lines who are dealing with the smoke all day, every day," says Singh.
