Bates Elementary

Thursday, May 10, 2018 - 11:00am

We are still in need of individuals to be part of our community council. If you are interested please Send all nominations to Julie Simmons  by Friday, May 11 at julsimmons@gmail.com.

The membership of a school community council includes the principal, teachers elected by teachers, and a majority of parents elected by parents of students at the school. It is their responsibility to plan and report on the usage of funds allocated to the school as part of the School LAND Trust Program. The plan the council writes focuses of the school’s greatest academic need (s). The most effective councils and committees are those whose members work collaboratively to develop plans to aid all students in reaching their potential.

Plans are approved by the local school board.
Council meetings are held a few times during the school year and are open to the public.

=====================

We have a very limited number of yearbooks still available. We will be selling them on a first come, first serve basis beginning Tuesday, May 15. If your student would like a yearbook and you have not purchased one for this year, you may send $13 (EXACT CASH or check payable to Bates) along with the yearbook order form attached to this email with your child to school on Tuesday, May 15. Students can take the money directly to the office to purchase the yearbook. A current list of students who have already purchased yearbooks is available from your student's teacher, or you can email fidfam@yahoo.com to check.

Please note that once these remaining yearbooks are sold, there will not be any additional opportunities to purchase books. Yearbooks will NOT be available to purchase on the last day of school. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ms. Wright
