Monday, October 16th, is World Food Day.
World Food Day is celebrated each year to mobilize global awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger.
I'm planning a very unique event with Food Tank in New York City in partnership with Broadway Stars as we “Dance for Hurricane Recovery!”
One hundred percent of ticket revenue is supporting food relief for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean via #GiveHealthy and Feeding America, which are providing emergency assistance to Puerto Rico. The World Food Program USA is supporting emergency assistance in Dominica.
The event is being held in NYC at the Union Square Ballroom on Monday, Oct 16 from 5:30PM-7:00PM.

I created Garjana, a completely original, fully immersive dance workout led by Broadway stars—from the casts of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Margaritaville,” “Aladdin,” “Memphis,” “Wicked,” and more. Garjana features all-original music by Toronto based producer Douglas Romanow, whose credits include Justin Bieber and Tyga, spun by DJ Will Buck, whose credits range from Florence + The Machine to Method Man. We created this concept with award winning film director Kevin Arbouet as our artistic director and Broadway's Monica Kapoor as our choreography.
Garjana has been selling out major venues in NYC as an “alternative happy hour.” And it has garnered incredible media coverage from Billboard, Playbill Magazine, The New York Times, Time Out Magazine, and more.
The event on October 16th also features dance performances by Dance in Tribeca, NYC Bollywood Funk, Learn Bhangra, Lotus Creations Academy of Performing Arts, Broadway Bodies, and Fit4Dance along with terrific snacks and beverages donated by Great Performances along with additional donations from Peeled Snacks, Elisa's Love Bites Dessert Atelier, Dang Foods, Icelandic Glacial Water, Gotham Greens, Emmy's Organics, Pacari: Premium Organic Chocolate, Rhythm Superfoods, GT's Kombucha, Body & Soul Vegan Bakery, REBBL, & Pipcorn.

CBL PROPERTIES CONTINUES TRADITION OF CLOSING ON THANKSGIVING DAY
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. & LAYTON, UT (October 11, 2017) – CBL Properties, owner and manager of LAYTON HILLS MALL, announced today that their portfolio of market-dominant regional shopping centers will close on Thanksgiving Day and open at 6:00 a.m. on Black Friday, November 24th.
“The support that we received last year when we made this decision was overwhelmingly positive,” said Stephen Lebovitz, President and CEO, CBL Properties, “It is based on this feedback from our retail partners, employees of CBL and retailers at our properties, as well as the customers in our markets that we made the decision to again close our centers on Thanksgiving Day.”
Department stores, movie theaters, restaurants, and retailers with exterior mall entrances will have the option to open their stores on Thursday. However, access to mall common areas will be restricted until 6:00 a.m. on Friday. Patrons should check their local center’s website for more specific information.
