Plain City—Fremont High School’s drama class will be performing the play “The Man Who Came to Dinner” February 11-14 in the auditorium. The play centers around a man named Sheridan “Sherry” Whiteside and the misadventures that follow him and the other characters after he slips and falls on a patch of ice outside his friend’s house. The story features love, revenge, irony, and humor all wrapped up perfectly together.

Aubrey Obray, who teaches drama at Fremont, said she looks forward to seeing all the hard work her students put into not only performing, but also into making all the lights, set, and costumes themselves for this play. “For me, I try to remember every day that I'm trying to help cultivate good human beings to run the world and theatre is a vehicle for accomplishing that,” she said through an e-mail. “I think that theatre (the arts and humanities in general) is important because it's our human nature reflected back at us. The particular plot and circumstance may not be all that familiar to our daily lives, but the impulse that drives us as human beings is there.”
