Plain City – Fremont High update: The December 1st gun scare has had the student body and the staff rethinking and going over the safeguards that are in place for just this type of event. The staff took time with the students to talk about the events and work through what people had on their mind. Fremont had a crisis team there for some of the students as a needed emotional resource. Dr. Rod Belnap, the principal at Fremont made a statement, “We appreciate the countless messages and expressions of support. We appreciate the kind words from each of you and your concern for this great school. A strong community is what defines Fremont High School. We truly come together when challenges arise. After meeting with local law enforcement and other officials regarding the incident, they all commended Fremont (while we commended them) on such tremendous students, faculty, and staff that helped with such a challenging event with calm, apparent smooth actions that day.” School has returned to normal status with many activities on the calendar.
