With school starting again, Harrisville Police would like all citizens to be aware of children waiting at the bus stops and crossing the street.  They have identified some serious safety concerns and would like to seek assistance in making our schools safer.  If your children walk to school, please ensure they are encouraged to remain on the sidewalks and only cross in designated cross walks or at intersections.  For children waiting at bus stops, please encourage them to stay out of the streets until the bus arrives and to obey the drivers.

National Voter Registration is during the month of September.  You may register to vote at voter.utah.gov.   Ballots will begin arriving in Weber County mailboxes the last week of October.

After school clubs at GreenWood for the 2016-2017 school year:

After school clubs are a great way to spend time with friends while enlivening  your GreenWood experience! **MIDDLE AND UPPER GROVE STUDENTS ONLY PLEASE**

This year there will be five different clubs to choose from:

Tuesday: Story-telling: Middle Grove has its own story-telling star in Mr. Behling! On Tuesdays from 3:40-4:30, he will help club members learn the skill of choosing a story and telling it with the goal of sending a student to the Weber State Storytelling Festival.

Tuesday: Art in Nature: GreenWood’s new Nature Specialist, Ms. Crosbie, will be leading a club dedicated to studying the natural world around us and translating what we see into art!

Wednesday-Science: Mrs. Keyes is all ready to go with a fun exploration of scientific principles!  Students can use this club as a jumping off point for GW’s  second science fair or just enjoy playing mad scientist one hour per week!

Thursday-Writing: Want to learn how to structure a story, write a poem or even write and perform a one-act play?  This is the club for you! Miss Sarah will be volunteering to work with our students and her Senior Capstone Project to graduate from NUAMES this spring.

Friday-Running: Get a head start on your weekend activity and start building your endurance for this year’s Boosterthon run! Mrs. Kidd will lead GreenWood’s young athletes on a brisk run each Friday.  In winter, we will look at indoor options.  Families are welcome to join in the fun!

Each session will be $25, funds used to cover materials and cost.  They will go on for 6 week sessions taking a break between Thanksgiving and the New Year.  Please speak to Mrs. Kidd if families have a concern with the cost. jkidd@greenwoodcharter.org
