Easter is here!!! Remember the Easter Egg Hunt is at 9 am sharp at North Ogden Park.  Right after the hunt, the Connection Savaging Hunt Party will take place until 1:30 pm with booths and activities for the kids.

Come Volunteer!  Join North Ogden for Comcast Cares Day on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 8:00am - 12:00pm at North Ogden Park (2705 N 550 E). We will be planting trees, helping at the Community garden, landscaping, revamping the dog park and much more!  For every volunteer that participates, Comcast will contribute a grant on his/her behalf.  This grant money will go toward improvements for the City!  Volunteers receive a free breakfast (donuts), lunch and a t-shirt.

Garden plots are being ready for rent for the growing season. They are a 4' x 12' garden box, they must be planted by June 1st.  You may plant earlier. Clean up by November 1st. Garden plots are located on the corner 2550 North 550 East. Questions: please call 801-737-0587.

The City has already been hard at work this spring.  They have had a controlled burn at the green waste facility this week. Public Works has been out spraying the weeds on 2700 North, trying to stay ahead of the weeds and make it better for bikes and strollers. The contractor who is currently installing electrical wires for the new light poles on Washington Blvd. from 2300 N to 2600 N, has offered to let the City do some of the labor to dig the holes if they wanted to save some money. Dylan Hill and Bryce Nielsen from Public Works volunteered for this tough and dirty assignment and are doing a great job! The City has a philosophy that we don't spend the money "just because it is budgeted," and we try to find ways to cut costs or self-perform whenever possible.

The old skate park is being readied for more parking for the city office and library. The new skate area is going in at North Ogden Park where construction will take place over this spring and into the summer.

North Ogden’s Employee of the month is Tiffany Stahili. She is the department head for Parks and Recreation. She started with the City at the pool and worked her way up. Tiffany has been a very hard worker.  When she says a project will be completed, it’s completed on time. She has been instrumental in getting grants for the City. Congratulations!!

Students of the month are: Melissa Lopez from Weber High, Camryn Sheen from Maria Montessori Academy, Caleb Casey from North Ogden Junior High and Josh Howell from Orion Junior High. Great job!

Open House at North Ogden Junior High is on Monday April 17th at 3:30 to take a tour of the renovations that have been taking place. There was a new 18,000 sq. ft. gym added with seating on three sides of the court. The old gym was converted to an auditorium with a professional grade stage (the biggest stage in Weber County, we are told). The hallways are newly painted, a new elevator installed and updated carpet.

Spotlighting Wadman Park, this park has so much to offer with the 10 acres of open space. There is a soccer area, restrooms, pavilion and a walking trail. This is the best area during the winter for sledding hills and a state of the art playground, slides, and climbing walls.  The most wonderful thing is the play mat.  So, no sand pile in your car on the way home. Come spend some time with the family here as it has wonderful scenery of the mountains.

North Ogden is spotlighting Big O Tire for the month of April. If you are looking for a local place to get tires, stop in and talk with Big O Tire.
