Local Insulation Installer to Compete for the Title of

America’s Best Insulation Installer

J Rosario Ruiz-Cardenas of Pleasant View, Utah-based J&K Insulation to compete for this year’s title and $10,000

DENVER – Nov. 2, 2016 – J Rosario Ruiz-Cardenas of J&K Insulation in Pleasant City, Utah will compete in the 14th annual America’s Best Installer competition (Nov. 10-12) at the Exdo Events Center in Denver. He will compete against more than 30 insulation installers from coast-to-coast to test his skills in a fast-paced competition for the $10,000 grand prize.

Created in 2003 by building products manufacturer Johns Manville and Insulate America, the America’s Best Installer competition emphasizes the importance of a quality insulation installation as an important way to increase energy efficiency and decrease energy waste in a home.

“America’s Best Installer gives industry professionals the opportunity to show off their skills and learn from some of the country’s best installers, while engaging in a friendly competition,” said Danelle DeGroodt of Johns Manville. “We’re proud to recognize the skilled installers who continue to raise the bar in the quality of installations to ensure a more energy efficient and comfortable home.”

During the competition, each competitor will install various types of JM formaldehyde-free insulation batts into a mock home structure complete with construction obstacles, such as electrical outlets, pipes and a vaulted ceiling. Industry-expert judges will evaluate the individual performances based upon real job site criteria, including quality of workmanship and installation, speed, and material use.

In addition to the grand-prize Best Installer winner, the competition also will recognize the second-place winner with a $5,000 cash prize, the third-place winner with a $3,500 cash prize and the fourth-place winner with a $2,500 cash prize. America’s Best Installer and the runners-up will be announced during an awards ceremony at Exdo on Nov. 12.

STATEMENT on New Rule Reducing Methane Emissions on Public Lands

DENVER—In response to the announcement of the Interior Department’s final Methane and Waste Prevention Rule, the Center for Western Priorities released the following statement from Advocacy Director Jesse Prentice-Dunn:

“It’s wonderful to see the nation following Colorado’s lead in requiring oil and gas companies to capture, rather than waste, harmful methane on our public lands. Today’s rule is a commonsense fix that’s great news for our climate and our economy—reducing greenhouse gas pollution while ensuring taxpayers get their fair share from the resources that belong to all Americans.

“By finalizing this and other rules that have been years in the making, the Obama administration is showing strong leadership in its final weeks.”

Jesse Prentice-Dunn is available for video and audio interviews. To speak to an expert about energy production and public lands, contact Media Director Aaron Weiss at 720-279-0019 or aaron@westernpriorities.org.

The Breitling Jet Team American Tour Ends After Two Highly Successful Years
The World’s Largest Professional Civilian Jet Team Performs For Hundreds of Thousands of Fans During First-Ever Tour of North America

Wilton, Conn. (November 15, 2016) – After two years of highly-acclaimed performances, the Breitling Jet Team’s first-ever American Tour recently concluded at the inaugural Breitling Huntington Beach Airshow in Huntington Beach, California. Supported by the independent Swiss watch brand Breitling, the team flew their seven L-39C Albatros jets at speeds up to 435 mph, within just a few feet from each other, inspiring fans across the United States and Canada. Known for their precision flying and breathtaking performances, the team performed from coast to coast with over 70 performances at 30 different air shows in the U.S. and Canada over the two-year tour.

"The American Tour was an absolutely incredible experience for us,” said Breitling Jet Team Leader Jacques Bothelin. “It was a privilege to share Breitling’s passion for aviation with hundreds of thousands of fans across the U.S. and Canada. We did some incredible flights over the past two years on our American Tour, like flying over Manhattan. It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful the Manhattan skyline is from above. It was a true honor to see the beauty of North America from the skies and meet so many Americans and Canadians with such passion and excitement for aviation.”

The Breitling Jet Team flew over several iconic areas in the United States including the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, the Golden Gate Bridge, Zion National Park and Monument Valley. The team was also able to demonstrate their precision, skill, and professionalism to some very special passengers firsthand including former U.S. Naval aviator and NASA astronaut Mark Kelly, Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Player Ken Griffey Jr., Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel and outfielder Jake Marisnick, Detroit Red Wings forwards Dylan Larkin and Justin Abdelkader as well as professional golfers Morgan Hoffman and Suzann Pettersen. Fellow pilots and friends from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and Canadian Air Force Snowbirds were also able to enjoy taking to the skies, but this time, from the passenger seat of the Breitling Jet Team L-39C Albatros jets throughout the two-year tour.

“A French team that flies Czech jets and is supported by an family-owned Swiss watch brand is certainly something the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) had never seen before, but I knew after witnessing their extraordinary performances in Europe that we had to bring the Breitling Jet Team to the U.S.,” Breitling Jet Team American Tour Director Jim DiMatteo said. “In order to do that, we worked closely with the FAA to negotiate a framework for allowing them to perform here in North America. It took a lot of hard work and determination to make the American Tour a reality and I can’t begin to express how proud I am of the results.”

Breitling established the Jet Team over 13 years ago to celebrate their passion for aviation and share it with fans across the globe. Breitling has deeply-rooted and privileged ties to aviation that span the brand’s history. The Breitling Jet Teams performance mirrors the style, power, precision and elegance of Breitling’s watches.

“Breitling is synonymous with aviation. The Breitling Jet Team American Tour provided an unforgettable opportunity for audiences across the country to witness the link our brand has with aviation and our commitment to precision and performance,” said Breitling USA President Thierry Prissert. “The team has embodied our spirit of adventure and we are thrilled with how well they have been received these past two years in North America.”
