Governor orders flags lowered in honor of

Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week

SALT LAKE CITY (May 15, 2017) – In support of our nation's police officers, President Trump has issued a directive to lower flags to half-staff at all federal facilities until sunset today. Per this directive, Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert has ordered the flags of the United States of America and the state of Utah to be flown at half-staff at all facilities today until sunset.

“During this week of reflection, Jeanette and I honor the brave men and women who have fallen in service to their communities. We are mindful of them. We will never forget them. To the families of the fallen we owe a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. And to those who have so nobly taken up the call to offer protection to your fellow men, we also honor you, and revere your service this week and always.” Gov. Herbert said.

Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly flags at half-staff from now until sunset this evening.
