The Humane Society of Northern Utah has offered to add $2,000 to the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the abuse of this orange cat in Clearfield. Although the Humane Society of Northern Utah is a separate organization from the Humane Society of Utah, both have shared an interest in finding the perpetrator in Sage's case, and now this one.

I told Debbie with HSNU that I would update my contact list on this information, attached is a screen shot from their FB page. This means the reward is now $5K.

Abused cat found in Clearfield, $3K reward offered

Humane Society of Utah offers a reward for the arrest and conviction in another Clearfield, Utah case of animal abuse

A male 1-year-old orange tabby domestic cat with injuries caused from suspected abuse was found in the Clearfield, Utah area in close proximity to where Sage was found. Sage died from wounds inflicted by horrendous torture March 9, 2017. This unnamed orange tabby cat is currently under a veterinarian’s care and is expected to survive. Both cases are actively being investigated and details of this case are being intentionally withheld. It is unknown if both cases are related and will be treated as separate cases at this time, which is why the Humane Society of Utah (HSU) is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the abuse of this cat. The HSU hopes the reward assists Davis County Animal Care & Control and Clearfield Police in obtaining information required to identify and charge whoever is responsible for this allegedly intentional act of animal cruelty.

“We do not know for sure if the same person who tortured and killed Sage is responsible for abusing this cat,” said Deann Shepherd, HSU representative. “This case may be unrelated but coincidentally close in proximity, or the investigation may find that they are connected. We are offering a reward to help find information to solve this case as it stands. We strongly believe that the abuse of animals is a concern for our community and the person responsible needs to be apprehended.”

The owner of this cat has not yet been identified. If anyone is missing a pet that matches this description, they are asked to contact Davis County Animal Care & Control at 801-444-2200.

Anyone with information regarding who may be responsible for the abuse of this orange tabby cat is urged to contact Davis County Animal Care & Control at 801-444-2200. Tips can remain anonymous.
