Sen. Lee Releases Statement of Support for Family of Aaron Butler
SALT LAKE CITY – Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) released the following statement after learning of the death of Utah National Guardsman Aaron Butler from Monticello, Utah:
“My heart goes out to the Butler family on the loss of their son Aaron. I am very grateful for all our service men and women who put their lives on the line for our nation. I will pray for all our Utah families who have loved ones serving in Afghanistan today.”
Butler was working with the Afghan Army as part of a twelve-member team fighting members of the Islamic State in eastern Afghanistan.

Bishop Statement on Death of Utah National Guardsman
BRIGHAM CITY, UT – Congressman Rob Bishop (UT-01) released the following statement regarding the death of a Utah National Guardsman and the injuries sustained by others during combat operations in Afghanistan:
“I am grateful to all who put their lives at risk in the defense of our nation and freedom. At this time, I pray for the family of the Utah National Guardsman whose life was lost in Afghanistan, as well as the other service members who were injured during this operation.”
