Cache Valley Cheese

Want to make cooking for your family more wholesome and delicious this year? To kick off 2017, Cache Valley® Creamery is excited to share some big announcements with cheese lovers across Utah!

  • In data released this week, Cache Valley conducted a survey of 1,000 Uthans to determine why residents love their state (and their cheese) so much – and ended up with some fun results, including:
    • 1/3 of Utahns would rather give up Netflix for a day than give up cheese.
    • 90% of Utahns agree that when cooking for their family, using natural, wholesome ingredients is important.
    • Almost half (47%) of Utahns agree that “good” food is defined as food that tastes delicious.
    • When asked what “goodness” means to them, Utahns said “wholesome” and “quality” were at the top of their list.

  • Cache Valley is officially partnering with renowned food blogger and influencer, Heidi Larsen of FoodieCrush, to bring even more ooey gooey goodness to Utahns this year!

< >Meal Planning: Meal planning and simple meal prep strategies help take the guess work out of what to make for quick weeknight dinners. Take a few hours on the weekend to plan, shop, prepare and cook ahead. Cook a whole chicken on Sunday and turn leftovers into cheesy chicken enchiladas on Monday.Switch things up by trading out traditional dinner recipes for favorite breakfast dishes, like this Ham and Cheese Breakfast Soufflé Casserole.Make dinner bite-size. Set out a selection of sliced meats, cheeses, and fresh veggies with hummus and dips for a build-it-yourself dinnertime meal.Get Creative With Veggies: Every parent knows that getting kids (and sometimes spouses) to eat their veggies can be a challenge. But adding a sprinkling of Cache Valley cheese to veggie dishes adds additional flavor—not to mention protein and calcium—so they won’t even notice they’re eating their veggies and liking them too.Top broccoli with a sprinkle of Medium Cheddar Cheese Shreds or cut Provolone Slices into small pieces and stir into cooked kale or spinach.Never underestimate the power of sneaking veggies into family favorites – like this oh-so-delicious Skillet Cauliflower Mac and Cheese recipe.

< >Focus on Family: Dinnertime is the best time to catch up with everyone in the family, learn from one another, and share quality time together.  Turn off technology and focus on one another at meal time to keep everyone connected. From choosing what’s for dinner, to cooking and clean-up afterward, assign everyone in the family a duty. For little ones, this could mean setting the table or helping with food prep – like shredding their favorite cheese for tacos, pizza, or to add to the dinnertime salad.
