The House-passed American Health Care Act (AHCA) was NOT the full repeal of Obamacare promised to voters, but it did move the debate forward. More must be done to revitalize our health insurance markets and drive down costs -- that should start now in the Senate.

As the process continues in the Senate, conservative lawmakers must ensure three things happen: repeal Obamacare’s taxes, reform Medicaid, and empower states to regulate their own health care markets.

1. Repeal Obamacare Taxes:

It’s time to repeal Obamacare taxes once and for all. The House-passed AHCA achieved this goal, and now the Senate must do the same in their final version of the bill.

It’s a very straightforward concept, this is a tax cut that will lower health care costs and put money back in the pockets of the American people -- money that was seized by the Obama Administration.

2. Reform Medicaid:

Medicaid was unsustainable and ineffective prior to Obamacare, but then it was radically expanded. At a minimum, the Senate should roll back expansion like the House version of the AHCA did.

In fact, conservatives should encourage their Senate colleagues to improve these reforms in order to minimize waste and fraud, and save our country from bankruptcy.

3. Empower States:

Under Obamacare, the federal government basically became the nation’s default insurance commissioner. The House-passed bill allowed states to opt out of some of the premium-increasing insurance mandates created by Obamacare.

Now the Senate must give states the ability to opt out of these harmful Title I regulations too. Empowering states and giving them more control to regulate their health insurance markets is essential to draining the swamp in Washington.

The Senate is continuing to work on their bill, and a final version could be unveiled later this month. We must do our part by urging conservatives to push for these three things to ensure the Senate repeals as much of Obamacare as possible.

JUNE 19, 2017 - PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Dull Blue Lights are premiering their new single, "Press Play", exclusively today with AXS. Listen HERE. "Press Play" is the latest single from The Dull Blue Lights' upcoming self-titled debut album, due out on July 13th. To celebrate the release, which was produced by Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Benjamin Booker, Clear Plastic Masks), the band will be playing a hometown show on the 13th at the Barbary in Philadelphia. For more information, please visit: https://www.thedullbluelights.com/.

The Dull Blue Lights are a band in between. Drawing from influences as varied as Motown soul, Nuggets psychedelia, and Jamaican rocksteady, the Philadelphia-based group's definitive blend of cascading harmonies, screaming guitars and relentlessly grooving rhythms lives somewhere between each one. The band calls this in-between sound Basement Soul.

"We acknowledge that genre exists, but have no interest in confining ourselves to being just a soul band, or a mod band, or a reggae band, and on and on," lead vocalist/guitarist, Todd Fausnacht, explains. For the band, any type of music they enjoy can become part of the Dull Blue Lights Sound. "For us personally, coming from a scene full of vintage throwback bands, it's a refreshing change."

Formerly known as The Snails, The Dull Blue Lights transformed immensely during the writing of their debut album. "When we started writing this record, we were one band, but by the time we finished recording, we were a different band entirely," Fausnacht elaborates. "We unintentionally told a story of transformation and metamorphosis, which ultimately ended with us becoming The Dull Blue Lights."

Featuring all-analog recording, The Dull Blue Lights was tracked live in five consecutive 12-hour-long sessions at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville, TN with producer Andrija Tokic. With songs nodding to rockabilly, soul, reggae, garage and more, The Dull Blue Lights is an album with a little bit of everything. As drummer, Josh Parry, puts it, "This album is a cathartic journey of a band searching for itself, and discovering that it is everything all at once. We had our fun making it, and we couldn't be more excited to see everyone else have their fun listening to it."

The Dull Blue Lights are Todd Fausnacht (lead vocals/lead guitars), Ben Parry (bass/vocals), Tim Hildebrand (guitar/vocals), Matt MacLeod (organ/vocals) and Josh Parry (drums/vocals).
