United Way Welcomes New Board Members for 2015-2016 and Announces Executive Committee

 

Salt Lake City – United Way of Salt Lake today welcomed five new members to its Board of Directors, now comprised of 47 leaders. The organization also confirmed new members of the Board’s Executive Committee for the 2015-2016 fiscal year. United Way of Salt Lake’s Board members are prominent corporate and community leaders who volunteer their time to further the missions and goals of the organization.

 

United Way of Salt Lake’s Board of Directors guarantees legal, fiduciary, and fiscal accountability. The Board also ensures the organization functions by its own bylaws and policies and within state and federal law. As community leaders, board members use their personal and professional influence to accomplish United Way of Salt Lake’s mission to improve lives and build strong communities by uniting individuals and organizations with the will, passion, expertise and resources needed to solve problems.

 

“We’re excited to welcome these dynamic community leaders to our Board of Directors,” said Bill Crim, CEO of United Way of Salt Lake. “Their passion and expert guidance will ensure United Way of Salt Lake has a tremendous and lasting impact in the community by creating an environment where everyone can learn, grow and thrive.”

 

The following Board members begin their terms on July 1, 2015 and will serve three years:

·         Kirk Aubry, President and CEO | Savage

·         Alex Guzman, Vice President, Strategic Planning | La Galeria

·         Jane Marquardt, Vice Chair | Management Training Corp. 

·         Tanya Vea, Vice President and General Manager | KSL

·         Senator Todd Weiler, Senator | Utah State Legislature

New Board members were nominated for their leadership positions in business, government, or community organizations, their dedication to United Way of Salt Lake’s mission, goals and objectives, and their expertise and experience. Selected by a Nominating Committee of current Board members, the new members are eligible to serve up to two three-year terms.
 

The Board has also voted in its 2015-2016 Executive Committee members, who include:
