New Washington Boulevard streetlights are on! The new streetlights on have been officially turned on. The boulevard looks a lot better with the lights. And the lights are "full cutoff" so the light goes downward and not into the sky. There will be some trees that will need to be trimmed along Washington to eliminate dark spots caused by leaves and branches blocking the lights. This has improved safety and nighttime aesthetics, and it doesn’t hurt that it saves a lot of tax payer money.

Movie in Barker’s Park on July 28th is Finding Nemo. Bring blankets and chairs and enjoy the movie.

Road maintenance will be happening over the next 2 weeks, as keeping the roads in good shape is a priority for the City. Several roads will be ground down to remove cracking asphalt and then receive a new 1.5-2" overlay, while the west side of 3100 North will be chip sealed. There will also be patching of "problem areas" on multiple roads. This work represents your "Transportation Utility Fee" ($3 per month) at work to keep our roads in good working order. *All work is projected to be completed within the next two weeks.* Patience Appreciated.

Road work will occur on the following roads:

·         150 E from 1900 - 2000 N

·          575 E from 3300 N - 3500 N

·          800 E from m3100 N - 3550 N

·          900 E 3300 N - 3550 N

·         950 E from 3100 N - 3200 N

·          3100 N 450 E - 1050 E.

Cherry Days Wow! What a great time everyone had. A HUGE Thank You to all the volunteers and city employees whose hard work helped the rest of us to enjoy a great celebration of our Nation's independence and our City's heritage! With a special thanks to all our volunteers, Councilwoman Cheryl Stoker, who was the Chair of this year's celebration, Tiffany Staheli and her team at Parks & Recreation, and Dave Espinoza and his team at Public Works, Parade Coordinator Shelly Robison, Annette Spendlove and Shelli Smith from the Administration Dept., North Ogden PD, the North Ogden Youth City Council, and the wonderful volunteers of Kid's Corner!

New Volleyball Courts Are Done!  North Ogden Park’s three new sand volleyball courts are done and ready for use! The annual Employee Appreciation BBQ was held at the new courts and they were awesome! They were built by the Public Works & Parks & Rec Departments, who saved thousands of dollars versus contracting out the project. Special thanks to Scott "Tiny" Felter and Tyrel Stark. You can reserve the western court for $10/hour by calling Parks & Recreation at: (801) 737-0587. The other two courts are first come, first served basis.

June business of the month is America First Credit Union. Since its grand opening in April of 1989, America First Credit Union of North Ogden has been dedicated to providing a positive experience for their members and improving their community. In more recent years America First’s North Ogden Branches have had the opportunity to serve an average of 14,500 members per month from the North Ogden community. This staggering number of members served can only be outdone by the equally astounding number of community service projects and programs undertaken by the dedicated team members from America First.

From sponsoring the North Ogden Cherry Days Parade and Kiwanis Cherry Days Breakfast to hosting business seminars for local business owners, America First donates thousands of dollars every year to bettering the community here in North Ogden City. Additionally, bankers and tellers from America First regularly donate their time to help organizations such as Youth Impact, where volunteers read with children and help with after school activities to improve literacy or Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah, where the volunteers from America First stock the food pantry for those less fortunate.

With their tireless focus on serving their members and furthering programs in their community, America First Credit Union has greatly benefitted the City of North Ogden and its inhabitants over its many years of operation.
