NORTH OGDEN POLICE DEPARTMENT – 801-782-7219 – 515 E 2600 N

The North Ogden Police Department wishes to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Sub-for-Santa program a success. Businesses throughout North Ogden and northern Ogden allowed us to place donation cans in their businesses. Other businesses donated money, coats, activity passes, or provided generous discounts for the program. We also had residents drop off checks at our office to pay for Sub-for-Santa gifts. Between these generous donations, funds raised at our annual golf tournament, donations left in the cans placed at local businesses, and the generosity of local businesses, we were able to provide a special Christmas for several families in North Ogden and elsewhere in Weber County, who otherwise would have struggled this Christmas season. We have been providing Sub-for-Santa for 30 years, and the generosity of our community members continues to amaze us.

On a more serious note, we have seen an increase in traffic accidents as the weather has gotten colder. Please be mindful of slick roads. The distance needed to stop your vehicle increases as the roads get wet or icy. Many accidents also occur because of driver over-confidence in the abilities of their vehicles. All-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicles still have a difficult time stopping on black ice. Please drive cautiously, and reduce your speed and increase your stopping distance during bad weather.

Ron’s Report, a part of the North Ogden’s “Your Information Your Way” campaign, is a community building forum that involves YOU – our residents. You can submit stories, photos and headlines about community activities and events. To see the blog and Facebook page, go to www.northogdencity.com

ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICE – 801-737-2212

It’s time again to renew your dog’s license. Licenses can be renewed at the North Ogden City Police Department, 515 E. 2600 N. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, excluding holidays. License applications are available for your convenience on the city’s webpage, www.northogdencity.com, or they can be picked up and filled out at the police department front desk.

All North Ogden City dog licenses are expired, and are due to be renewed. The owner or caregiver of any dog not licensed by March 1st, 2014 will be in violation of North Ogden City Ordinance 6-1-3(A), a class C misdemeanor. Late fees will accrue for all licenses not renewed by March 1st.

Sadly, every year there are residents who face late fees and citations because they put off renewing their dog licenses until after the March 1st deadline. Please, do not procrastinate.
