$3,000 reward added to solve wild horse death
Humane Society of Utah offers reward for arrest in wild horse shooting case
The Humane Society of Utah (HSU) is adding a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the death of a 14-year-old palomino stud found on public lands west of Delta, Utah, July 20, 2015. The horse was found dead from a small caliber gunshot wound by specialists from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Utah Fillmore Field Office. The HSU hopes the reward assists the BLM Law Enforcement in obtaining information required to identify and charge whoever is responsible for this act.
“The Humane Society of Utah is dedicated to the elimination of pain, fear and suffering in all animals, and that includes finding justice for those who are needlessly killed,” said Gene Baierschmidt, HSU executive director. “Our mission includes teaching respect and humane treatment of animals. We cannot condone these acts of violence.”
The HSU conducts its own cruelty investigations of animal abuse and neglect around the state and promotes legislation and ordinances that will enhance the welfare of animals in Utah.
