Gov. Herbert takes action on two bills
SALT LAKE CITY (August 20, 2015) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert took action on two bills from the 2015 First Special Legislative Session today.
Of the two bills signed was H.C.R. 101, Concurrent Resolution Approving Site For New State Correctional Facilities. This concurrent resolution approved the site near I-80 and 7200 West for the new correctional facilities. The House approved the measure by a vote of 62 - 12 and the Senate, 21 - 7.
“There is no perfect location for a prison, but I feel confident that this decision came at the conclusion of a thorough, fair and inclusive process,” Gov. Herbert said.
