Pleasant View Mayor Message

This month’s message is a chance for me to apologize.  I did, in fact, leave at least one new building from the list I compiled in March.  The Utah Dance Academy has a beautiful new building located on Highway 89. It is a great addition to Pleasant View.

I am sure that many of you, if not everyone, noticed a discrepancy in the start time for the Easter Candy Grab last month.  Two different times were sent out. 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. were listed in two different places. The 10:00 a.m. time was incorrect, but we decided to hold the hunt at this time for the following reason.  If we went back to the normal time of 9:00 a.m., those who believed the time was 10:00 a.m. would have brought their children to the park to find the park empty. If the children showed up at 9:00 a.m., they would need to wait or return at 10:00 a.m. to enjoy the candy.  I decided that I did not want to see any children disappointed by missing out on this fun event, so we decided to hold it at 10:00 a.m. Sorry for the confusion that this caused. Hopefully, all the children had a fun time and parents and grandparents were able to be entertained watching their children scramble for the Easter goodies.

Now, just a reminder, I am writing this message on April 15 in order to meet the publishing deadline.  That means that the Candy Grab has not even happened yet. The way the weather has been behaving lately makes it entirely possible that a change in the date was needed to hold the event on dry land.  If so, the blame for that one goes to Mother Nature, not me. Crazy Spring!

There is an old saying by Ziad K. Abdelnour that goes like this: “Never explain yourself to anyone.  The person who likes you will not need it. The person who dislikes you will not believe it.” I know that the above message seemed like an explanation, but it was meant as a true apology for causing some of you an inconvenience. We pledge to do better!

I am committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure that Pleasant View remains the best place to not only grow up, but the best place to grow old.
