UTGOP Statement on Doug Owens' Candidacy
SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Republican Party Chairman James Evans released the following statement after the announcement of Doug Owens' candidacy for the 4th Congressional District:
"It was certainly not unexpected that Doug Owens would be announcing his intention to run again; it was just a matter of when," said Chairman Evans. "Nevertheless, Congresswoman Love has done an excellent job representing the people of the 4th Congressional District. She has been very aggressive in advocating for the values we as Utahns believe in."
"I am confident that when the dust settles next November, not only will Congresswoman Love be reelected, but she will be reelected with a significantly larger majority. If the Democrats think they are going to turn out more favorable voters in Utah with Hillary Clinton at the top of the ticket, they are living in a dream world."
