Shelter dogs spend Thanksgiving Day in a home

Humane Society of Utah closes Nov. 24; dogs spend the holiday with volunteers

For the sixth year, the Humane Society of Utah (HSU) sends adoptable dogs Home for the Holidays with foster volunteers. Volunteers will be selecting dogs at the HSU adoption center located at 4242 S 300 W in Murray, Utah, between 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, and returning them early Friday morning Nov. 25. The shelter will be closed Thanksgiving Day.

“Thanksgiving and Christmas Day are the only two days of the year that the Humane Society of Utah adoption center is closed for business,” said Lisa Burningham, HSU volunteer coordinator. “With no opportunity to get adopted on these two days, we prefer to get all of our dogs out of the shelter and into homes for the holiday.”

Over 40 dogs will spend Thanksgiving Day with selected volunteers in their home. Some of these dogs may be lucky enough to stay. “Some people fall in love with the dog they bring home for the holiday and decide to adopt it, which is wonderful,” said Burningham.

About the Humane Society of Utah

The Humane Society of Utah (HSU) is dedicated to the elimination of pain, fear and suffering in all animals. Since 1960, the HSU has been sheltering abandoned animals, fighting cruelty and neglect, and creating an environment of respect, responsibility, and compassion for all animals across the state. As an open-admissions shelter, the doors are always open for any animal we can legally accept. The HSU is a member of the No-Kill Utah Coalition and works hard to ensure that every healthy and treatable pet that enters the facility will be placed into a loving home. In 2015, 11,318 pets received positive outcomes and we achieved no-kill statistics for both cats and dogs for the first time – a milestone in 55 years. The Humane Society of Utah is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization that does not receive any tax dollars or government funding and is not a branch of any national organization. We are solely funded by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses and foundations in our community. Read more about the HSU online at utahhumane.org.

BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY AND HUMANE SOCIETY OF UTAH

ANNOUNCE HOME FOR THE PAWLIDAYZ PET ADOPTIONS

For the second year, a generous donor will sponsor free pet adoptions

from Black Friday through Cyber Monday

MURRAY, UTAH — Best Friends Animal Society is pleased to announce that a generous corporate donor will again sponsor pet adoptions this holiday season. Beginning on Black Friday, Nov. 25, and continuing through Cyber Monday, Nov. 28, adopters will have the opportunity to bring home a pet for free through the Pawlidayz initiative. The company has pledged to donate a total of $1.25 million to Best Friends Animal Society.

“Our goal is to clear our kennels and cages,” said Jamie Usry, HSU director of development. “We’re grateful to Best Friends for the opportunity to participate in this event and hope that we find loving homes for all of our pets.”

Every day across the United States, 9,000 animals are euthanized simply because they don’t have a place to call home. It is Best Friends’ goal to see 9,000 dogs and cats adopted during this campaign. During one of the busiest shopping times of the year, Best Friends and the Humane Society of Utah encourage customers to spread holiday cheer and take the time to make a difference in the life of an animal by providing a pet with a forever home. More than 115 shelters, rescues and humane organizations across the United States, including the Humane Society of Utah, will participate in the initiative, allowing adopters nationwide the opportunity to save a furry friend this holiday season. The Humane Society of Utah is an active partner in Best Friends No More Homeless Pets® Network which offers help and support to animal rescue groups that save lives in their communities.

“We’re excited to be a part of this wonderful holiday promotion for the second year in a row,” said Gregory Castle, co-founder and CEO of Best Friends Animal Society. “Every animal that finds a permanent loving home helps us to get one step closer to Save Them All.”

To follow the adoption excitement, search #Pawlidayz on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. To adopt an animal this holiday season, visit the Humane Society of Utah or www.utahhumane.org. To learn more about the campaign, please visit www.BestFriends.org/blackfriday.

The Salt Lake Tribune Names Partner Fusion a Winner of the Utah 2016 Top Workplaces Award

We all want to work in a ‘top workplace’ environment, and we hope we can continue to create an inspiring, collaborative workplace where we can feel valued and where we can have an impact.

— Daniel A. Nelson, CEO of Partner Fusion

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, USA, November 23, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Partner Fusion has been awarded a 2016 Top Workplaces honor by The Salt Lake Tribune. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits.” said Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.” Claffey added, “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”

Partner Fusion is a leading marketing and technology company. Using its proprietary technology platform, it has helped startup teams in a variety of markets turn ideas into early stage technology companies ready to succeed.

“We appreciate the recognition as it represents the culture and vision we share as a company,” said Daniel A. Nelson, CEO of Partner Fusion. “We all want to work in a ‘top workplace’ environment, and we hope we can continue to create an inspiring, collaborative workplace where we can feel valued and where we can have an impact.”
