There are many items on the calendar this month, starting with the early opening of the Green Waste Pit. It’ll be open on Saturdays March 25th & April 1st from 9am to 2 pm. Remember, you need a green waste pass that must be purchased at City Hall or the Public Works office.
Calling all Skaters, bikers and rollerbladers, have your voices heard on the design of the new Skate Park. The workshop will be held March 28th from 6 pm to 8 pm at the North View Senior Center.
Senator Mike Lee will be here in his mobile office on March 28th at 505 E 2600 N North Ogden from 1 to 3:30 pm. Come share your concerns and comments with U.S. Senator Mike Lee’s staff.
Burn Permits will be available to be applied for starting March 30th until May 30th and there are opportunities for a fall burn between September 15th and October 30th. Please use the following link to apply for a burn permit.

Mark your calendars for the annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt on April 15th at 9 am. The Youth City Council has worked hard in getting this set up and ready for the big day.
Volunteer Day! Join North Ogden for Comcast Cares Day on Saturday April 22nd from 8 am to 12 pm at the North Ogden Park (2705 N 550 E). The plan is for planting trees, helping at the Community garden, landscaping, revamping the dog park and more improvements. For every volunteer that participates, Comcast will contribute a grant on his/her behalf. This grant money will go toward improvements for the City! Volunteers receive a free breakfast (donuts), lunch and a t-shirt. You can register online -sign up at the Parks and Recreation Office (2705 N. 550 E.) or download the registration form.
North Ogden Junior High’s Mulan was awesome! Mayor Brent Taylor was present at the first performance March 17th. He stated, “I was very proud of the cast and crew of Mulan. They did a fantastic job and made our City proud. Our future is bright with this group of young people!! Go Knights!!”
Everywhere you drive, there are orange barrels! There are several projects happening with the area along Washington Boulevard. The first is that the speed limit has been changed this last week. From 2300 N to 2600 N it is now 40 MPH, UDOT has changed the signage along the area.
There is utility work being done on both sides of Washington Blvd for the next couple months as the preparation of the electrical work and light bases for the 33 new streetlights that are coming to Washington Blvd. between 2600 N and 2300 N. The great news is most of the work will be in the park strip/sidewalk area and there will be minimal impact to driving. This is part of the ongoing initiative to improve safety and to beautify Washington Blvd. The new lights will be installed by early summer.
There are various areas that have had damage done to the road areas with potholes and cracks. There will be crews out taking care of those. If you notice new ones, please let the City office know.

The North Ogden March Employee of the month is Scott Felter. Scott works in the Public Works Dept., where he is known as a jack of all trades. If you need something, he’s the man! After 34 years of service, he knows many areas of the City and their workings.
He is a Street Superintendent, and of course, he helps in many different departments. He has a big job during the snowfall, as he has to be available 24/7 on holidays, weekends, day or night. He is in charge of the 20 snow plow operators and the 20 different zones they plow. At times this can be challenging to get the streets plowed for the morning commutes. Our hats are off to the Public Works Department after this last winter.
