Sacramento, CA - April 21, 2017 - Sacramento rock band A Lot Like Birds has released a music video for their new track "Trace the Lines" (ft. Conor Murphy of Foxing), here: https://youtu.be/XdZqbCbr3e0. The video is a continuation of the story that began with "The Sound Of Us," which recently premiered via Noisey. "Trace the Lines" is the latest single from the band's forthcoming album DIVISI, which will be released on May 5th, 2017 via Equal Vision Records. Pre-orders for the album are available now and can be purchased, here: alotlikebirds.merchnow.com.

"'Trace the Lines' features our first ever guest vocalist. I wrote the string arrangement and intro to the song around the time when Foxing's Dealer came out, and both Matt and I were jamming it heavily. When it came time to write vocals for it, we both had the thought that the part fit Conor's voice perfectly," guitarist Michael Franzino shares. "I had a mutual friend with him who connected us and it all fell into place. Conor is way talented; we're very grateful for him making the trek out to Cali to make it happen."

In support of the new album, A Lot Like Birds will be embarking on a North American headline tour this spring with Household, Hearts Like Lions, and OWEL. The tour kicks off inAlbuquerque on April 25th, with VIP ticket packages, including an exclusive acoustic performance, available now, here: Alotlikebirds.soundrink.com. For a full list of upcoming shows, please see below or visit: alotlikebirds.com.

After releasing three full-length albums, No Place (2013), Conversation Piece (2011) and Plan B (2009), signing to Equal Vision Records, and touring around the world nearly non-stop for five years straight, A Lot Like Birds began recording their fourth full-length album on April 19, 2016. Armed with a new lineup of Cory Lockwood (vocals), Michael Franzino (guitar), Ben Wiacek (guitar), Joseph Arrington (drums) and newcomer Matt Coate (vocals, bass), and working with Sacramento-based producer Dryw Owens (From Indian Lakes, Sianvar), the band entered the studio - unaware of just how much time, energy and passion would go into the process of creating this new album, that will mark a new era for the band upon its release.

An all-encompassing, all-consuming emotional experience, DIVISI is an album about life and death, and about love and heartbreak. It is about acknowledging your past and facing your future. It's about starting over, without forgetting where you've been. And about remembering those who inspired you to be the person you are and the person you still strive to be. DIVISI is about the change and growth that A Lot Like Birds not only wanted, but needed.

DIVISI will be released on May 5th, 2017 via Equal Vision Records. For more information, please visit: alotlikebirds.com

Five Questions Reporters Should Ask Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke at Tuesday’s Press Club Event

DENVER—Ahead of Tuesday’s Outdoor Industry press briefing featuring Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, and in light of reports that President Trump is taking steps to erase or shrink America’s national monuments, the Center for Western Priorities has the following questions for Secretary Zinke:

  • Today you’re touting the hundreds of billions of dollars that the recreation economy generates for local communities. How do you square that with an executive order that could erase the protected lands the recreation economy is built on?

  • Are you open to coal or uranium mining inside national monuments?

  • Are you prepared to recommend the president alter Bears Ears National Monument in a way that leaves archaeological sites outside the monument boundaries?

  • Given your promises to respect tribal sovereignty, will you meet with the five tribes that requested monument status for Bears Ears before issuing recommendations to the president?

  • You often talk about following in Teddy Roosevelt’s footsteps. Are you prepared for your legacy to be the Secretary who tried to roll back national monuments and weaken Roosevelt’s Antiquities Act?
