Farr West welcomes the new City Council Members sworn in on January 7th. Their assignments are:

 Mayor - Z. Lee Dickemore - Bona Vista Water Representative - WACOG Representative - Parks and Recreation - Senior Citizens.

Tom Burkland will be over Central Weber Sewer Representative - Sewer and Drains - 2700 North Economic Development Representative - Sales Tax.

Boyd Ferrin will be over Mosquito Abatement Representative - Celebrations - Road Maintenance and Assistant Mayor.

Matt Gwynn is working with Weber Fire District Representative - CERT/Emergency Management - Animal Control and Community Covenant / Veteran's Celebration.

David C Jay is working as a Planning Commission Representative - Master Plan - Maps & Ordinances - Beautification & Nuisances.

Ken Phippen will be over the Grants - Web Interface / Social MediaTrails and the Parks Committee Representative.

 They are all looking for a great new year for the City. City Council Meetings are set for every 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month, with the next meeting on the 01/21/2016 at 7:00 PM. Subject: Political Subdivisions (local issues there is new business licenses and subdivision items on the agenda). The last meeting was held back on January 7th where a number of items were discussed. Home Occupation Business License and approval of that license was given to Treasured Quilting, LLC - Patricia Curtis.  Schoonmaker Construction, LLC and  Kyle Halbash were welcomed to the community. Final approval was given for Garlick Fields minor subdivision located at 1468 Farr West Dr. and a motion to Re-Appoint Treasurer and Recorder for 2016 year.

The Farr West City Recreation Center winter hours are Monday-Thursday 5:30am – 8:00pm; Friday 5:30am – 7:00pm; Saturday 7:00am – 12:00pm; and closed on Sunday.

Snow Removal - During winter, travel will become more challenging. The dedicated men and women of our Public Works Department will be out in force keeping our roadways as clean and safe as possible. We would like to remind everyone to use extreme caution around the plow trucks and to utilize the information below. Our Public Works Department has an excellent safety record. If you have questions, or concerns, please contact the Public Works Department at 801-731-4187.

Street Parking Is Restricted from December 1 to the Following March 1

* So as to provide access to snow plows for snow removal, it is unlawful for any person to park or allow to remain parked any vehicle upon streets from December 1 to the following March 1 upon said streets when: 1) snow is falling; or 2) there is a visible amount of snow on the street; and 3) the street has not been plowed since the snow fell (City Code 10.04.080: Parking Regulations).

* Street parking is prohibited at any time when there are two inches or more of snow accumulation on the streets until the streets are cleared. Please refrain from parking on streets whenever snow or ice conditions may require plowing.
