Nasser, NPR & New York, the common denominator- massive sexual assaults

Surveillance cameras and immediate 911 reporting are vital steps to dramatically reduce the epidemic of sexual assaults and rapes of vulnerable women and children

Nasser committed massive sexual assaults, NPR is exposing it and New York State is covering it up

We as a civil society can no longer allow anyone, or any institution, to protect sexual predators or be able to continue to cover-up these most heinous sex crimes.”

— Michael Carey

ALBANY, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, January 25, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- “Emergency actions must be taken by government, organization and church leaders to dramatically reduce sexual assaults and rapes and to swiftly catch and ensure the prosecution of all sexual predators, as well as those that enable them. Countless lives are being severely damaged and destroyed by monsters that can and must be weeded out of society. We also cannot ignore, or let off the hook, anyone, in positions of authority that protects and enables sexual predators, pedophiles and rapists. Individuals that are knowingly involved in shielding sexual predators to protect their institutions are just as guilty, they too are criminals that must be weeded out and prosecuted.” – Michael Carey

Larry Nasser was just sentenced to up to 150 years in prison for his sex crimes. The judge was quoted saying, ‘I Just Signed Your Death Warrant’. According to the New York Times, “More than 160 women say Larry Nasser sexually abused them.” It was also written in the Times, “Dr. Nassar, 54, was accused of molesting girls for years under the guise of giving them examinations or medical treatment. Some were as young as 6. Many of them were Olympic gymnasts.”

Just following Larry Nasser’s sentencing, the calls for the resignation of the Michigan State University president were heeded. It is quoted from the ABC News piece below;

“A number of the women assaulted by Nassar spoke following his conviction Wednesday, criticizing MSU and its leadership in a statement, saying, "MSU and its administrators could have prevented the Nassar scandal if they had simply followed Title IX and the mandatory reporting laws. They ignored complaints of his misconduct going back to 1997. When they finally conducted a Title IX investigation of Nassar in 2014, they botched it and allowed him to continue allegedly molesting dozens of women and girls for two more years, including Team USA gymnasts."

“It is an all too common theme, institutional leaders failing in their responsibilities and allowing sexual predators to escape justice and do what they do, which is to sexually assault, rape and destroy lives.” Michael Carey

NPR has just released a scathing investigative reporting series called “Abuse and Betrayed” exposing the massive sexual assaults and rapes of people with disabilities. According to NPR, who obtained information from the U.S. Department of Justice, people with disabilities are sexually assaulted seven or more times the rate of anyone else. There are many basic common sense safety and abuse prevention measures, including immediate 911 reporting that will, without question, dramatically reduce these sexual assault crimes, atrocities and cover-ups.

In the first NPR exposé, the story of a very dangerous New York State caregiver and pedophile that the Jonathan Carey Foundation has been speaking about for many months is again brought to light. In a nutshell, this pedophile was sexually assaulting and filming at least one disabled boy that he was supposed to be taking care of in a New York State operated group home.

The Sexual Assault Epidemic No One Talks About

Thankfully, Stephen DeProspero was caught in a federal porn sting and convicted and he will be in jail for a very long time. Listen to what this pedophile said in his own words, which must be heard loud and clear by everyone;

"The lack of supervision there made it easy to do what I did," DeProspero said in a handwritten affidavit obtained by The Associated Press. "I could have stayed in that house for years and abused him every day without anybody even noticing at all. It was a predator's dream."

It was a predator's dream': NY pays $3M to family of molested boy

This extremely disturbing statement made by this pedophile speaks volumes of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s mental health care system in New York State. The sad fact is that in 2011 the New York Times did a massive investigative reporting series called “Abused and Used”, which Michael Carey convinced the Times to do, which should have catapulted numerous vital reforms to protect the disabled from these heinous sex crimes. Governor Cuomo, instead, went the exact opposite direction and chose to continue protect the institutional cover-ups, jeopardizing the safety of 1,000,000 New Yorkers with disabilities. The rampant abuse and neglect has only gotten worse because most sexual predators know they can practically do anything, with anyone, and get away with it.

Governor Cuomo took no emergency actions to immediately protect people with disabilities from being sexually assaulted or raped. Governor Cuomo failed to ensure that all sexual predators that rape our most vulnerable are held accountable following the award winning New York Times “Abused and Used” investigative reporting series that became a runner up for a Pulitzer Prize.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/nyregion/abused-and-used-series-page.html

The New York Times Editorial Board two and a half years later blasted Governor Cuomo for refusing to ensure the most basic actions were taken to protect the disabled from sexual assaults, rapes and all types of abuse or premature death. The New York Times Editorial is titled, “Protecting the Most Vulnerable”.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/10/opinion/protecting-the-most-vulnerable.html

Here are a couple of extremely damning quotes from this Editorial;

“Two-and-a-half years ago, The Times reported horrifying abuse of people with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses by state employees, who were rarely punished for it. Gov. Andrew Cuomo promised action. But too little appears to have changed.”

“There is much the governor could do. He could require surveillance cameras in these facilities, just as prisons have them. He could make sure that the police get more involved.”

Countless sexual predators, pedophiles and rapists within State run and private mental health facilities and group homes in New York State have been and continue to be protected and shielded from being prosecuted and from being placed on the sex abuse registry. The prosecution rate for crimes committed in the general public is between 60-70% and only a small fraction of 1% for the crimes committed against people with disabilities in Governor Andrew Cuomo’s mental health care system.

The most dangerous people are individuals in positions of authority that choose to protect sexual predators over the safety of vulnerable women and children rape victims. Currently, in New York State, by the directive of Governor Andrew Cuomo, almost all reported sexual assaults and rapes of people with disabilities are internally reported to another one of his agencies and disappear; they are covered-up. For over ten years, from 2007 to present, Attorney General Cuomo and then Governor Andrew Cuomo have protected countless sexual predators, pedophiles and rapists within State run and private mental health facilities and group homes from being fired, from being prosecuted and from being placed on the sex abuse registry. This timeline proves years of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s direct involvement.

“When leaders and institutions purposefully look the other way in attempts to protect themselves and money evil prevails. We as a civil society can no longer allow anyone, or any institution, to protect sexual predators or be able to continue to cover-up these most heinous sex crimes.” – Michael Carey

This last New York Times exposé and quote speaks volumes;

Australia and Catholic Church ‘Failed’ Abused Children, Inquiry Finds
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/14/world/australia/australia-sexual-abuse-children.html

“It is not a case of a few rotten apples,” the report said. “Society’s major institutions have seriously failed. In many cases those failings have been exacerbated by a manifestly inadequate response to the abused person. The problems have been so widespread, and the nature of the abuse so heinous, that it is difficult to comprehend.”

No longer can 911 call systems, local police and local courts be bypassed and these sex crimes covered-up. 911 call systems must be immediately called by all mandated reporters regarding all sexual assaults and rapes. Surveillance cameras must be placed in specific areas to minimize these sex crimes and to help ensure swift arrests and convictions of all sexual predators.

Advantage Trim and Lumber Threatens Lawsuit Against Competitor Ipe Woods USA

The exotic lumber giant Advantage Lumber is throwing its deep pockets around using its law firm to demand access to Ipe Woods USA’s computer hard drives.

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, USA, January 25, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- This isn’t a story about a frivolous lawsuit over someone winning a million dollars for hot coffee spilled in their lap. It’s much worse, this story is about a company started from nothing but hard work, many hours and the American dream. Threatened by a larger, wealthier company for 2 photographs their web development firm uploaded to a website for less than 5 months.

Late last year Ipe Woods USA was notified that 2 images on its website built by a website development firm based in India were the property of Advantage Trim and lumber. The notice though did not come in the form of a phone call by anyone working at Advantage it came in the form of a letter from Advantage Trim and Lumber law firm Schroder Joseph & Associates LLP

The letter made demands for (see image):
Cease and desist and remove the photographs…...
Pay Advantage $40,000 in a settlement for “Damages”
Pay Attorney’s Fees
Advise the steps taken to comply with the letter.

Immediately after receiving the notice the images were removed. But the removal clearly was not the only agenda. They proceeded to use their attorneys to “negotiate” compensation. Ipe Woods USA, President, Steven Rossi tells in his own words “As soon as I opened the package with the letter saying there were 2 images on our site that were theirs, I freaked out. I thought how can this happen. I actually picked up the phone and called their Attorney right there and then. The letter was vague and did not say what images they were. So at the time, I had no idea. When I called their Attorney my goal was to figure out what images they were and get them off our site ASAP. When the photos were identified they were removed, fast.”

Ipe Woods USA proceeded to offer the company $800 in compensation for this error, the Attorney letter and use of the images for the months they were up. In the letter to the Attorney, Steven Rossi wrote “Although it seems clear now that Advantages intent is not to receive fair compensation. I will make an offer in goodwill anyways. Stock photos like this cost $5--$20, but I am sure Advantage had them specially made in which case it could have cost a few hundred at most. So I would like to offer $200 its use for the few months it was up, $200 for it being used without permission and while I think paying your legal fees is crazy since all they had to do is call us or email I will add $400 for you to draft the DCMA letter, speaking to me on the phone, and emailing me. That's a total of $800.”

Steven Rossi, explains the offer “I was more upset about the photos being used then they could possibly have been, you trust another company to build you a website and somehow they expose you to litigation. I offered them the money because I would be upset also if someone used our photos. So I thought it was a good acknowledgment of error although not committed by our company directly.”

Ipe Woods USA is a relatively new company, however, their website and rankings are higher than Advantage Lumbers in many circumstances. The Attorneys insisted that Ipe Woods USA disclose the Indian based website development company that has helped them achieve this. Ipe Woods USA decided that this information was proprietary and is part of what was giving them a competitive advantage. Ipe Woods USA gave them screenshots of the conversation edited for personal information, showing the Indian based firm acknowledging taking the photos from “Google”, but this was not enough.

So Ipe Woods USA also offered to have a third party access their email and verify this claim. This also was not enough.

“It became clear that they did not want to know that we were not responsible for uploading the photos, they wanted us to disclose our vendor.” Said Steven Rossi

So in response to not disclosing the third party company, the Lawyers sent an email containing this letter. In this letter, they state the intention of viewing all of Ipe Woods USA’s information.

“I think it is crazy that someone working for my competitor is saying that they should be able to look at all of our company and personal files. I use one computer for work and personal. This means every photo, even the private ones that include every event in my life and super personal moments Advantage Lumbers Attorney is asking for and want to have someone comb-over. To think someone thinks they have a right to look at my love letters and photos, devastating moments of my life and private ones. Business contacts, private info and all because 2 photos were used on our site for less than 5 months. The truth is that seems to me like it is total BS”

Advantages Lumbers Attorneys have asked for Electronic Files, Hardware, Emails, Internet Web Activity, Supporting Information, Data Storage Devices.

In a final statement, Steven Rossi said “Myself and my company never uploaded a copyrighted image. Nor would we, we are an ethical and responsible company that always tries to err on the side of integrity. I guess there are just some companies out there that do business this way. I personally have never even had a conversation with anyone at Advantage besides their Attorneys. I guess I am the type of guy that when I have a problem I call someone, talk to them, work something out, treat them the way I want to be treated. That being said I have an open offer to Betty and Robert Pelc the owners of Advantage Lumber that if they want to try to work something out rather than have Attorney’s do all their talking let's go grab a drink and talk, work things out or at least try like real people it's my treat.”
