New Town Homes are being constructed in Pleasant View

Pleasant View is seeing the first wave of town houses and apartment development now.  Anyone driving along 2700 North between Highway 89 and North Ogden has seen the Town houses at the Cove going up.  There are 55 town houses going up there according to Bruce Talbot, the Pleasant View City Planner.  There are also 132 apartments approved on the same property, but to the East of the Town houses.  Those will be very close to the North Ogden City line.

Talbot says that up until now, there are two developments that have been approved, and two that have not.  Another is proposed next to M&M Storage on Highway 89.  The currently unapproved developments were located next to the corner of 2700 North and 600 West, and next to the Trailer Court on Highway 89.  The last to be denied by the City Council was on the corner of 2700 N. and 600 West.  That happened when the City Council refused to re-zone the land to allow for town houses or apartments.

A proposal to build 144 townhouses for rent on property owned by Bernie Spiers next to M&M Storage on Highway 89 is waiting to go to the Planning Commission once the Developer, Horizon Development is ready to go.  The owner of Horizon Development, Kirt Peterson, is reportedly waiting to complete financial arrangements with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and other financial partners before he gives the go-ahead to have the Planning Commission review and City Council approve the development.
