Governor signs alcohol policy reform bill

SALT LAKE CITY (Mar. 28, 2017) – Today Gov. Gary R. Herbert signed H.B. 442, Alcohol Amendments. The governor released the following statement:

H.B. 442 is a major updating of our already strong and effective regulations on alcohol. It provides increased funding for proven education and enforcement efforts that will prevent underage drinking and impaired driving. This law also makes our restaurant licensing more equitable while giving establishments several options and reasonable time to comply. I appreciate the hard work of Rep. Brad Wilson and Sen. Jerry Stevenson in bringing this legislation forward.

A list of additional bills signed by the governor today will follow this evening.
