Work continues on the improvement of the soft/baseball fields and the replacing of the playground equipment at Pleasant View Park. The City has been working on replacing the current playground and hopes to be finished by the first part of June. Plans for the final design were presented to the Council for approval on April 9th. The City is planning a community service project to finish the project in early June.

Improvements to Shady Lane Park located on 600 West is also in the final planning stages. Plans include the removal of the parking lot in the middle of the park making it possible to expand the soccer fields. There are plans to install a large playground area and bowery, including restrooms, where the current swings and drinking fountain are located. The parking area to the east of the trees will be expanded and improved to make up for the lost parking in the middle. Also, for safety reasons, parking on 600 West will no longer be allowed.

As part of the project to improve the park, the city will be widening and repaving 600 West from 2700 N to Pleasant View Drive. The City would like to have the road part of the project started by June 1st.
