Bipartisan Amendment May Save Wild Horses in Holding and on the Range

New Amendment being offered to abolish slaughter of healthy wild horses and burros

(RICHMOND, VA. August 25, 2017)  A new Amendment is being introduced to the House Appropriations Bill that may help save our wild horses and burros from the potential inhumane slaughter of tens of thousands. Representatives, Dina Titus, (D) (NV), Pete King, (R) (NY) and Jared Polis (D) (CO) will be introducing an amendment to Division A of the Rules. The Amendment prohibits the slaughter of healthy, unadopted wild horses or burros in the care of the Bureau of Land Management or its contractors.

After the secretive, one-sided, closed door meetings held in Salt Lake City this week, this news gives hope to wild horse advocates who have provided tried and proven solutions to the BLM for over a decade.  Slaughter could be off the table if Representative Titus’ et al amendment passes.

The Cloud Foundation Volunteer Executive Director states, “ Our thanks go out to Congresswoman Titus, Congressmen King and Polis for riding to the rescue of 1,000’s of vulnerable animals in holding and on western ranges.” Ms. Kathrens, who serves as the Humane Advocate on the BLM’s National Wild Horses and Burro Advisory Board, was not invited to the SLC meetings but appeared at a press conference on the street outside the secretive event, stated, “Finally there is hope on the horizon.”

“The BLM’s failed management of wild horses and burros on the range should not result in the death of the very equids that legally should have been protected,” states Lisa Friday, Communications Director for the Cloud Foundation.  “The BLM’s bureaucratic mismanagement in Washington should receive an extreme overhaul that allows for the tried and proven population control method of darting with PZP.”

The Cloud Foundation urges all Americans to contact their Senators and Representatives to assist in getting this amendment passed.

Hemp, Inc. Reports: Bipartisan Industrial Hemp Farming Act Introduced in Congress  SPRING HOPE, NC--(Marketwired - Aug 24, 2017) - Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) is pleased to report that the bipartisan Industrial Hemp Farming Act, introduced by Congressmen James Comer (R-Ky.), Jared Polis (DColo.), Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), and Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) is "back for its seventh iteration in the House, this time with momentum for passage, according to a bipartisan coalition of congressional leaders and agricultural advocates." According to Congressman Bob Goodlatte, "the Industrial Hemp Farming Act, which falls partly under the jurisdiction of the House Judiciary Committee, removes industrial hemp from the definition of a controlled substance and gives states the authority to carry out responsible hemp cultivation programs, should they so choose." It would, essentially, allow for responsible, commercial production of industrial hemp without fear of violating federal law.  Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) said, "Most farmers want to cultivate hemp. Let's face it. The government is losing the battle on prohibiting industrial hemp on the federal level. Industrial hemp has been around since the beginning of our nation. Not to mention, it's considered a 'cash cow' that's easy to cultivate. It doesn't need that much water and it grows in all soil types and can be used to make over 25,000 products, from food and clothing to car composites and airplane parts and even dietary supplements."  Perlowin continued, "Hemp, Inc. already has its hemp/kenaf manufacturing and processing infrastructure in place and our mill is operating full time. Hemp, Inc. has hemp and kenaf growing in 5 states, farm equipment, cloning rooms, grow rooms, greenhouses and a huge amount of peripheral farming tools and equipment. Once the Industrial Hemp Farming Act is passed and hemp is no longer considered a controlled substance, we can truly make America hemp again and thus make America great again."  Despite the literally thousands of uses for hemp, it is not legally allowed in the United States. While not a new crop to the U.S., most Americans are unaware of the wide range of legitimate uses for hemp. "I've met many Virginia farmers who are ready to commercially produce and create a market for industrial hemp in the U.S., but outdated, though well-intentioned, federal restrictions on the cultivation and commercialization of this crop stand in the way. By removing industrial hemp from the definition of a controlled substance, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act will finally allow for responsible, commercial production of industrial hemp without fear of violating federal law. This bipartisan legislation is the product of many months of robust discussion with both lawmakers and stakeholders. I look forward to moving this legislation through the House," said Congressman Bob Goodlatte.  Congressman Jared Polis (D-Colo.) has also been an instrumental advocate. "Hemp has boundless potential as a sustainable alternative to plastics and other environmentally harmful products," Polis said. "It can be used in everything from construction materials to paper to lotions and even ice cream. It's past time that we eliminate absurd barriers and allow hemp farmers to get to work, create jobs, and grow this promising and historically important crop!"  With Hemp, Inc. being a fully integrated high quality CBD manufacturer, farmers can do just that. The company has made significant progress toward being the go-to vehicle America can use to re-establish itself as the number 1 hemp producer and exporter in the world.  The Industrial Hemp Farming Act would allow states that have passed laws regulating industrial hemp "to continue having a robust hemp economy without interference from the federal government and will encourage investment in processing as well as farming." The biggest challenge, according to a posted article, is educating
