Pleasant View has a number of items that are being worked on at this time. Here’s a few: Wadman Park is an ongoing project to clean and haul away debris. The City Council has been hard at work with Mike Humpherys helping with equipment. This project is part of the overall project of moving and relocating the historical Hickinlooper Farm Cabin. There will be a small pad of cement put down for the cabin to sit on, but the rest of the area needs cleaning and making it so it’s maintainable. The City is looking for volunteers or Eagle Scouts to help with the project. If interested, call Jerry Burns at: 1-801-782-1474.
Many have asked why our police department is so expensive. There are several reasons for that:
1. Service. We are there when you call without much delay (unless a major incident is going on).
2. Wages and retirement are expensive for public safety employees (Pleasant View also pays at the top of the scale in Weber County. One reason is to hire quality officers and another is for employee retention)
3. The number and types of calls.
Upcoming projects to look at are: At 1325 West Hwy 89, there is a detention basin. They are working to get a RAMP grant to turn this into a City sports complex. This would be the size of 2 football/lacrosse fields, soccer field, parking for about 100 vehicles with restrooms. According to UDOT they would need a 200 ft. long city road for access to Hwy 89. UDOT has a lot of rules and regulations over entries and access to Hwy 89, including a traffic study. This raises the time frame of working on venues to make sure everything is just right before it can move forward. They are still working on getting the Emergency room facility in place on the south-west corner of 600 West and 2700 North. Move to 2700 North from the I-15 going east, UDOT is beginning to install a median all the way to Rulan White Blvd. The north-west corner of 2700 and Rulan White Blvd. there is a food combo starting the building process. Pleasant View is working with CMS to continue Rulan White Blvd north to intersect with Parkland Blvd.

Carson Warner from Maria Montessori Academy is one of those boys that blows you away. He is so motivated by life. If he gets an idea in his head, he will work so hard until he accomplishes that goal. He attended Maria Montessori during his 5th through 9th grade years. This year he will be attending Weber High and he is really excited for what that brings. His favorite things about the Montessori Academy was playing on the basketball team of 7 players. They worked really hard and grew close as a team. He learned a lot from his coaches Ryan and Wade Rallison (father and son coaches). His favorite teacher was Mr. Casey and his favorite subject was weight lifting. He works at Cold Stone Creamery (Yum) in downtown Ogden, plays the drums and has goals of running in a half-marathon and becoming a dentist. Oh yeah, he is also very good looking. We love this witty, happy, friend of ours.
