Congressman Bishop responds to President Obama's UT visit
WASHINGTON— Congressman Rob Bishop participated in a roundtable discussion with President Barack Obama, and others, at Utah's Hill Air Force Base. Representative Bishop also attended the President's public address and released the following statement after the President's remarks.
"I am grateful to the Commander in Chief for taking some time to visit the state of Utah. Regardless of politics, it is an honor to host the President of the United States. I applaud Hill Air Force Base for leading the nation in so many ways. The base's work with solar energy has been remarkable. I will keep a close eye on the President's Solar Ready Vets Program as more details are released. I support anything that brings jobs to Utah and Utah's veterans. With that said, I am disheartened by the many missed opportunities the President had to see much more of what is happening at Hill Air Force Base. From the first F-35 beddown to the extensive data work being done, Hill is at the forefront of our nation's security efforts. The Commander in Chief should have taken the time to see these efforts with his own eyes."
