RESPONSE to Trump plan to shrink Bears Ears National Monument

President bows to anti-public lands politicians in Utah

DENVER—Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) said today that President Trump called him to announce his intent to shrink Bears Ears National Monument in Utah. In response, the Center for Western Priorities released the following statement from Deputy Director Greg Zimmerman:

“President Trump and his administration will stop at nothing to sell out America’s parks and public lands. The president couldn’t care less about the cultural history protected by Bears Ears National Monument, he simply sees more places to drill and mine.

“On the 159th birthday of Teddy Roosevelt, America’s greatest conservation president, President Trump and Interior Secretary Zinke are launching an unprecedented attack on Roosevelt’s legacy. This foolish attempt to erase protections for Bears Ears—or any other national monument—will meet immediate legal challenges, and it is destined to fail in court.”

Charmiene Maxwell-Batten unveils ‘Araminta's Message’

Through fairy’s message, book hopes to inspire readers to embrace, find meaning in their lives

SALT LAKE CITY – Charmiene Maxwell-Batten has had a lifelong interest in mythology, fairytales, legends, and folk tales, as well as being involved  in-depth meditation and spiritual ashrams, and interest in quantum physics and astrophysics. Such interest prompted her to write “Araminta's Message” (published by Lulu). The book has a contemporary theme and is about a fairy who purposely reaches out to the world of humans with an evocatively compelling message.

As stated by Maxwell-Batten, “Araminta's Message” is enlightening, perceptive and thought-provoking. The author has captured the enchanting quality and playful charm of a fairytale while at the same time enriching the story with topical issues and futuristic curiosities.

The book is a fairytale and an allegory. A fairy soul is re-born in the mortal world so that she may communicate insightful information about the fairy dimension. Maxwell-Batten weaves the purity of a fairy's viewpoint into the fabric of the human outlook and gives readers a lucid opportunity to look within themselves.

“It’s motivating and inspiring, and touches deeply on universal, metaphysical, spiritual and scientific themes that we all can relate to,” says the author. “It addresses our modern day need to relax, meditate, and find meaning and harmony in our lives.”
