Church Reaches Milestone in Vietnam

The Vietnamese government has officially recognized what is known as the Interim Representative Committee of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vietnam. This Interim Representative Committee consists of three Vietnamese Church leaders (the Hanoi district president and the two Ho Chi Minh City branch presidents). Vietnam’s government has given this Interim Representative Committee national recognized legal standing to represent the Church in Vietnam. Full Story

Mormons Mark 170th Anniversary of the Church in the South Pacific

Members and guests of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints [Mormons] in French Polynesia celebrated the 170th anniversary of the arrival of the faith’s first missionaries in the South Pacific. The faith’s first congregation was established on Tubuai soon after the arrival of Mormon missionaries. 170 years later, there are close to half a million Latter-day Saints in the South Pacific.
