Several things to consider in determining how to cast your vote are:

  • Ensure a conservative and balanced approach to spending citizens' tax dollars by recognizing legitimate needs first and then prioritizing competing budget demands.
  • Encourage a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • Support projects that provide clean, safe and enjoyable neighborhoods & parks.
  • Develop a culture of smart, balanced, and sensible growth in the planning and zoning of the City’s future growth.
  • Provide efficient & effective municipal services for the citizens of North Ogden.

North Ogden is a growing community and Neal believes it is extremely important that the citizens of North Ogden have leadership that is visionary, collaborative and financially focused.

He is committed to providing balanced leadership, respectfully listening to opposing views, and developing solutions to the challenges facing the City.

Lynn Satterthwaite -Mayor for North Ogden – 2-year seat

Lynn has been a resident of North Ogden for more than 40 years. Through all those years there has been many changes in North Ogden. Lynne has been a central person in the Council voting for regulation of expenses and not so much for the 10 million to build a new Public Works Building. The amount was almost 10 times the amount the city had ever bonded for in the history of North Ogden. With the bond money he feels like we need to finish the Public Works Building like residents want and we need to establish "Pay as you go" as the way for the future of North Ogden. The need to listen to the people and do what is right for all the people in the city.

Where does Lynn stand on the Public Works issue?

(Council Candidate) He was actively involved in both the first and second petition drives—organizing much of the manpower in both efforts. He has vocally opposed the $10M bond and states, “I remain opposed to spending more than is necessary to construct a PW facility and I am opposed to incurring debt unless absolutely necessary. I support the work of a new PW committee to respond to city requirements and then to specify and build a fully functional and less costly facility. I endorse the actions taken by the city council to find and allocate available money for the PW building from within the city coffers. In the future the city council should make it their highest priority to plan for the future, exercise restraint in spending and find ways to fund city projects in a pay-as-you go approach.”
