Every month we have a continuing education class to give you refresher training. The location and topic are posted in the link above. We are in the process of updating our CERT list. If you have email and would like to be notified of upcoming events and C.E.R.T. call outs please send your email to harrisvillecert@gmail.com. If you do not have an email but would still like to be contacted please call the City Offices at 801.782.4100 ext. 1000.
Because of the recent flooding several C.E.R.T. teams have been called to help with sandbagging and other things. Other teams in Weber County have been called to help with fires and other disasters. If you are not a member of CERT but are interested in becoming one please email harrisvillecert@gmail.com for information on upcoming classes. Let’s all be prepared for the disasters that will come.
CERT Safety Tip - Avoid Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
During a power outage, never use generators, grills, or other gasoline-, propane-, or charcoal-burning devices inside your home, garage, or carport or near doors, windows, or vents. They produce carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless gas that kills more than 500 Americans each year.
Be Prepared – It’s Your Responsibility!
Remember, knowing what to do during an emergency is an important part of being prepared. Get a Kit, Make a Plan, and Be Informed – your life could depend on it!
